We truly enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Gainesville–University Center. The hotel is exceptionally well managed, and you can really see the difference in the level of service and overall experience.
General Manager Aksas Alouani is outstanding and sets a wonderful tone for the entire property. His leadership clearly reflects in his team, including Amarys, Natasja, and Danley, who were all professional, welcoming, and very attentive throughout our visit.
The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and well maintained, making it one of the top Holiday Inn properties we’ve experienced. We always appreciate the warm hospitality here and look forward to returning again.

As long as your expectations are not high, you should be fine. Coffee maker doesn’t work in the room. Staff is not going to do anything about anything. As long as you don’t need anything at all, you’ll be fine.
Not a place I would return to on purpose

When I was a kid, the Holiday Inn wasn't a great brand. It was utilitarian. This is a really nice hotel and the location is impossible to beat. There is an italian place attached to the hotel which is nice and the staff is quite good. Natasja (Natasha with a J) was great, courteous and professional which is always appreciated. Most people at hotels want to help. Natasja was super pleasant to deal with. Hotel stays by schools are almost always driven by availability and price. They're always packed. If you get the Holiday Inn, it really is the best location and it's a good place to recover from your weekend experience in Gainesville.

This would have been a great visit if it wasn’t for how this ended. I informed the front desk at check in that I needed late checkout for the gator game and the logistics for us to leave the vehicle and bags at the hotel while we went to the gator basketball game. Come check out the lady was very rude and had attitude the entire time. She was irritated about wanting our bags checked in and anything I said. However what was annoying was the parking. She said I could not have my car on site until 3 - the end of the game - because I could only stay until 2 and they were “expecting a lot of check ins…” I was only asking for an additional hour just to be given attitude and told they would tow me. Given the closeness to the stadium, I would’ve anticipated this wouldn’t have been such an issue. We took our things and left. I wouldn’t stay here agin. Ashlyn at check in was fantastic however and so was the bistro.
