  Older property that's showing it's age. The breakfast had lots of options but wasn't very good, with the exception of the cooked to order omelet station which was great! The room was clean and spacious, but the bathroom was small and the door didn't shut all the way. In its prime this was probably a top notch property. But it's definitely past it's prime. It was still a good value for what I paid for an overnight on the road. I wouldn't want to spend multiple days though.

  A friend and I visited due to a fair they were hosting. The staff were friendly and the facility was very clean.

  TRUTH* I have worked at many hotels but I must say the best Western gateway grand could have so much potential to be a lot better than what it is. They don't follow the guidelines/policy for the licensing of their pool they leave it open 24/7! This is dangerous. This opens the possibility for injury or drowning. The housekeeping is treacherous! Guest check-in, go to their room just to be surprised by a condom wrapper in their bed, dirty sheets, pet paw print throughout the room, or dirty underwear left behind from a previous guest. Complete turn down and sanitation is a slim chance to none. No need to make it aware to management they will do nothing about it. The standards for this hotel are unrealistic. Best Western gateway grand of gainesville fl definitely needs new up to date renovations stepping in to this hotel is like traveling back in time! Good luck with booking and your stay at this Best Western the rate does not match what's worth the stay. But do note* luckily, they price match. So find the cheapest rate possible and your final option available for lodging. And last but not least understand the checkin process is longer than usual do to their old outdated check-in system. Pre-checkin option is available but unlike other hotels where you can just your digital key and access your room. At Best Western Gateway Grand you still must wait in line to check in. (Wasted time).   Room had the smell of an old attic that had been sealed shut for decades. Didn’t get much better after running the AC. BW, if you have a crisis response team…send them here ASAP.

  AC was very loud and old could not sleep all night. For $230 a night at least upgrade your AC units. Never again i would stay there.
