I would never stay here again. We missed the airport shuttle by five minutes due to delays at baggage claim, which was completely out of our control. When we arrived at our room, there was an active leak and the floor around the first bed was soaked. We called the front desk but were told we couldn’t be moved because the hotel was fully booked. On top of that, the toilet ran constantly and would not stop no matter how much the handle was adjusted. The next morning, the manager, Roger D was unhelpful and dismissive. The food was poor quality and absolutely not worth the price. To make matters worse, our 10:30 shuttle to the cruise port didn’t leave until 11:20. Apparently, the hotel can be 50 minutes late, but guests are penalized for being five minutes late due to circumstances beyond their control.

The rooms could be updated a bit. Outdated television with no Netflix, YouTube, Hulu options etc. Just 1999 basic cable. Toilet makes a loud noise when flushing. Very much outdated. The pool was basic and very warm. Restaurant on 5th floor lunch was a bit on the non budget-friendly side but their breakfast was pretty reasonable and delicious. From our check-in to check-out Lucretia (front desk) was very rude. First, we called and got an early check-in, came and some kinda way it was confusion. She didn’t greet us at all. Kept talking very fast, low tone, and short. When I asked her if there was a spa she looked at me crazy under her glasses and rudely said NO as if that wasn’t a question a guests would typically ask. I noticed at checkout she didn’t thank us for staying. The Asian lady in front of me was treated with a happier attitude and she answered all of her questions without a snarky attitude. I wasn’t surprised though. Asian lady asked the same spa question that I did at checkout and didn’t get the rude blank stare. When I called to ask for extra face and bath towels during my stay she hung up on me. I called her back and asked why was I hung up on. Lucretia said someone would be up there. I told her well was it a problem saying that instead of hanging up on me like she did because I wasn’t sure if I should come get them or someone would bring. She said again very rudely “Someone would be coming” and hung up again lol. Can’t make this absurd experience up. If she didn’t want work the holidays or even be at work in general. Why come? Her job doesn’t even look hard at all. It literally requires you to be friendly. She needs to learn good customer service and really just being a decent human being. I would not come back to this hotel. The only reason we came is because it was a surprise visit at the last moment. We couldn’t extend our Airbnb as someone had booked the 12/24-12/25. This is why I prefer Airbnb over hotels. Easy check in and check out. You don’t have to deal with unkind humans or anyone for that matter. Hotels are trying to keep up with Airbnb and losing massive in revenue. It’s time to stop and think. Why? This honestly was my only experience in a hotel esp IHG where I felt I wouldn’t book again because of my experience. Purchase/receipt of stay available upon manager’s request to validate stay.

I will happily stay if my employer is buying the room, but I probably would not pay out-of-pocket. I’ve stayed here many times in the past in the hotel is good. Not amazing but just good. The check-in process is rather long. If you are the third person in line, you may expect to wait approximately 30 minutes before you are holding your room key. the hotel charges for daily parking. it’s not very expensive, but it is an added expense that you will see on your invoice when you check out. I believe it’s around $10 a day. Rooms: they appear to be marketing a “Green“ initiative. All of the lights are LED and have a very bright white feeling to the room. Lots of gray, white and maybe a slight light brown with light green trim. The showers have bulk dispensers in them. They had replaced my body wash with shampoo so I had two shampoo dispensers and one conditioner dispenser. There was no body wash in my shower, I notified the front desk and they told me to find the housekeeping lady and let her know. I found this resolution a little inconvenient, but not the end of the world. I personally am not a fan of the bright white LED inside the hotel rooms. It’s somewhat uncomfortable and doesn’t give it a very home like feel. Feels more like a doctor’s office on the inside. Staff: incredibly friendly, warm and welcoming. The front desk is always very kind and more than willing to bend over backwards to help you. I did experience one issue where my room was not cleaned after I left the “clean my room” tag on the door. Not a huge deal, but was a little disappointed at the end of the day after a 10 hour workday coming home to a room that was dirty and I had to fetch new towels. Restaurant: A $20 one out of five star breakfast buffet. You can expect powdered eggs, defrosted, pancakes, fresh oatmeal, large, blueberries, strawberries, and other continental options. The free breakfast at the Holiday Inn at least offers a fresh waffle maker. I was insulted that I had to pay $20 for this breakfast. I did not return the staff was amazing however. Hot coffee and at my beckoning call which I did not expect. I did not eat lunch or dinner at the restaurant however I have had dinner at this location several times in the past and the stake is superb. However, that was more than three years ago, so it has been quite some time since I’ve tried their menu. Again the hot breakfast was disappointing so I likely will not be trying it in the future. Misc: One of the elevators was stuck two times during my five nights stay. I did not get stuck in the elevator, but the door was certainly stuck. Not a game changer, but made me somewhat concerned about the maintenance and safety of the machine that carries people up and down daily. I notified them both times. The first time they were surprised, the second time I notified them they appeared to have already been aware of the situation. The second time I tried to notify them I attempted to call using my cell phone. The front desk line was busy for about five minutes. I went downstairs to tell them personally, and they were surprised to hear this, but they appeared to address the issue. I did not swim in the pool however the area seemed nice and clean. Well maintained. The hotel offers the parking garage and charges for parking like I previously mentioned, but parking did seem readily available. They made note to make sure that I only parked on the second or third decks of the hotel garage parking. Again, I probably would not pay my own money to stay at this hotel, especially during travel season because the rates are much higher. But I will be happy to stay here if my employer fronts the bill as it is very conveniently located to the airport and other areas of interest for my job.

This was one of the most frustrating and unacceptable hotel experiences we have ever had. While we were sitting in the airport waiting to fly to Fort Lauderdale, my wife received a call from the Crowne Plaza saying our prepaid reservation would be canceled at 5:30 pm unless we put a different credit card on file. They claimed our card had been declined. We knew that made no sense, so we immediately contacted Chase. The account had a zero balance, the card number on file was correct, and Chase confirmed that the hotel never even attempted to run the card. My wife relayed this information to the woman who called from the hotel. She told us not to worry, that the room would be held, and that we could sort everything out when we arrived. When we arrived at the hotel later that night, we were told our reservation had been canceled and that the hotel was fully booked. No warning, no solution, and no accountability. This was at 10:30 pm, and every other IHG property in the area was also fully booked. We were left scrambling in an unfamiliar city late at night trying to find a place to stay. As a loyal IHG credit card holder and Platinum Elite member with millions of points earned since 2015, this experience is completely unacceptable. This situation was entirely avoidable and was handled with zero regard for the guest. It has honestly been the final push we needed to cancel our IHG credit card and move our loyalty to Marriott. We have contacted corporate regarding this incident and are waiting to see if anything comes of it. Thankfully, we got incredibly lucky. The Omni Hotel had availability, came and picked us up from the Crowne Plaza, and provided an outstanding experience. Anyone considering staying here should seriously look at the Omni instead. This hotel failed us at every step when it mattered most.
