I stumbled on to this place completely by accident. I was traveling in the area to visit family nearby and had some extra time before heading back to Atlanta and have been considering Dunedin as a place to retire, so decided to drive through the area and have an early lunch before hitting the road. I asked a local where I could have lunch with a view of the water and she suggested Old Bay Cafe. It was unusually cold and windy on this Monday, so I sat inside and enjoyed a wonderful view with some fantastic food and a few cocktails. Well, by this time I knew I wasn't going to drive, let alone drive at Atlanta. I happened to notice this quaint two-story hotel adjacent to the restaurant and thought I'd inquire about renting a room for the night. I walked over and they were able to accommodate me. I booked the room for two nights knowing I could take a few days off of work. By the time Tuesday night arrived, I was hooked. I kept adding nights to my stay and ended up checking out Saturday morning. That's how much I loved the place. I was able to stay in the same room which was nice.
The rooms are clean, comfortable and offer a view of the bay from two sides-there's a door in the back of the room that opens up into a breezeway where you can sit and enjoy the view.
The staff was super friendly and the service was amazing. This hotel is also located in the heart of Downtown Dunedin which alone is a selling point.
Overall, fantastic trip, beautiful hotel, wonderful staff and relaxing environment.

Bring your own blanket!
There is no denying that this place has some absolutely stunning views, and the modern, airy decor of the room give me high hopes for a lovely stay.
Unfortunately though, I had some of the worst sleep of my life in this place. The bedsheets provided are wafer thin and certainly not enough to keep anyone warm, especially given we were visiting during a particularly bad cold front.
Unable to sleep we called down to the reception who informed us extra blankets came at a fee and they were sold out for the night! Desperately cold we asked if there was anything that could be done, only to be given a ratty old fitted sheet. You would have thought we were unexpectedly crashing at a friend's house, not staying in a hotel we had paid for! I have stayed in the some of the most basic, budget hotels in England and have never once had to pay for an extra blanket and certainly would never expect a ratty fitted sheet with holes in it, to be the best option available.
The next day we promptly asked for an extra blanket to avoid a repeat of the previous night but the blanket given was also paper thin and barely made a difference. There is heating available in the rooms but that is besides the point as I dont want to be sleeping on a hard, uncomfortable bed with hardly any covers. Nothing comfortable about that!
There is also a lot of light pollution in the rooms as there is light steaming in from all areas at all points of the day and night with no way of blocking it out. Ihave had better sleeps and service in a hospital than at this hotel. It really put a dampner on what was meant to be our 1st wedding anniversary.
I'd like to say the sleeping situation was the only negative but the bathroom was also not up to code. The shower curtain only covers about 1/3 of the rail as it's on an arched rail and doesn't stay closed. You end up with a dangerously slippy floor after showering and whats more the water doesn't drain whilst you're showering so you are stood in about 3 inches of water by the end of it all.
The complimentary breakfast on offer did not look very appealing and with many lovely establishments nearby, we decided not to try it out.
I honestly do no want to be a Karen and wish I could leave a nice review for this place but sadly this was my experience and that's just the reality of it. Hopefully you have a better stay than me!

It was great !!! We loved the bay view room. We loved the streets that were filled with restaurants, ice cream shops ,and bars. It was my favorite Best Western yet. The front balcony had yachts/fishing. The back balcony had the bay. Loved it !!!

We did a last minute staycation and not even doing enough research the place looked good from the outside and we like bon Appetite restaurant right next to it, but the Hot tub had fiber glass from not being cleaned properly, place is too outdated and the beds need to be changed, I like 4 stars hotels not sure if this is normal for a 3 stars, the restaurants in the area are great along with coffee shops. affordable at 200$ a night but you definitely get what you pay for here.

Stayed here for a couple of days with family and had a great time. The rooms are spacious and bright with natural light. Shout out to Ely for making this stay extra special. Ely helped me out a few times with some mishaps during our stay. He is one of the friendliest and most genuine employee I interacted with while there.
