- BRBruce RichieNov 6, 20254.0Breakfast was basically out of most items at 8AM (open 6-9:30). How can you not have your signature items such as cinnamon rolls? Breakfast hostess told me: "I can't put out what I don't have." Except for the check-in clerk yesterday, not a smile or greeting from a single employee. Rooms and location are great. Defuniak is a really fun town, but this property seems to have an unhappy staff. We have stayed here at several nights in the past, but it doesn't feel the same now.

This should have been seamless however once I arrived there it was not. The person behind the counter named John was rude, has horrible customer service and was not knowable. He did not greet me 1st then did not process my payment correctly. He also informed me the I was 30 minutes from loosing my room??? And that it was a good thing I came in. Once in my room I wanted to go straight to bed it was 230a I had drove 10 hr to get there and already worked a 13 hr shift at work. John came to my room and was banging on the door as if he was the cops. I answering only for John to tell me he needed me to come back down to the lobby to rerun my card again 🤯 it was now after 3am, I went down to the lobby to pay and was thrown out???? Sorry, not sorry that I was upset that you didn't do your job correctly the 1st. I won’t be returning I will be reporting this to HGI. John you and people like you should never be in a customer, you suck!!!
- TPTiffany PulkowskiSep 13, 20253.0Sept. 2025: This location is easy in need of some TLC. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean, and there is awesome water pressure in the showers. But the whole place is dark and could do with more lighting (especially in the hallways), and there is a faint odor everywhere. The staff is nice enough, but just doesn't really seem interested. Good price for the room and location, would stay here again but just don't expect too much. Breakfast is good with pancakes, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fruit, yogurt, cinnamon rolls, muffins, cereals, milk and juice.

Lots of options. Hot items were kept stocked and area dining clean (boiled eggs were frozen solid). Rooms was great. Very clean, well appointed, lots of towels, comfortable. (Shower curtain could not keep water in tub. Too thin? Not wide enough? Idk. Something odd there.). All in all, still highly recommend.

The hotel staff is always friendly and does their best to accommodate us!! The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the shower is amazing and breakfast is delicious! Definitely 5 Stars!!!
