    Update:: DO NOT EVER GO HERE!! General mgr emailed and said they do not offer complimentary shuttles to the port. Ok, I was told they did by the employer that is no longer there. Either way, the shuttle took me to wrong port (which his former employee told me to take) and apparently he’s saying I ordered this black shuttle thru a third party… which I did not! He’s recommending I call the shuttle and work w them..,but nobody has this mysterious black van info. He just quoted their policy and didn’t even look into what happened. Original Post: Staff has no idea what they are doing and it may cause you to miss getting to your port. I was lead to a black shuttle by staff and told that was my ride. It didn’t go to my port. The driver was scary and was telling me where he would go and where he wouldn’t. I was solo and in the shuttle alone. I was so scared. Missed my ship. He charged me, and the shuttles were supposed to be free. Called the hotel and talked to the front desk mgr and was told they don’t know of a black van!! And that employee that had told me to go to that van was no longer there! And was told no refund, I asked that they don’t let this happen again, but didn’t get the impression they would follow thru. It was the most vulnerable I have ever felt traveling solo.

    Stayed here for one night before a cruiser. I’m a faithful IHG member but this was not the typical IHG standard for me. Stayed at an AVID before. This one was pretty dated. Door needed to be pulled to feel and sound locked. Arrived on a day where a lot of flight cancellations and they decided to ground the free shuttle before the shift was scheduled to be over. Which was one of the reasons I booked here. So I had to pay for an uber. The front desk attendant Amber was very nice and apologetic about it. She was very accommodating. Honestly the only highlight of the time. Then morning continental breakfast was very mediocre. I almost skipped because the powdered eggs and Raisin Bran weren’t he standard IHG at all. Staff was great but felt the standard accommodations were very subpar.

    I booked 4 of my clients at this hotel 4 months in advance based on the positive reviews at the time & the proximity to the cruise port. I won’t elaborate on what the other reviews have stated about the lack of cleanliness, dirty linens on the bed & trash/debris on the floors upon check-in, damaged walls, floors, odors, etc. It’s all true. My first client who arrived FaceTimed me to show me the condition of her rooms & to express her concerns. As a Travel Advisor who prioritizes taking good care of my clients & providing them with a high level of service, I was extremely disappointed in what I saw. When I called the hotel to speak with the manager (who did not take my call nor did he return my calls after leaving messages), it further solidified that this (sadly) is not a hotel that values its customers. The only positive that my clients shared with me was that the young lady at the front desk was very kind, understanding & patient as they kept requesting to change rooms-only to learn that all of the rooms had issues. I found my clients another hotel, but they declined after talking with the front desk & having concerns that the hotel wouldn’t refund them if they checked out due to the circumstances. As a Travel Advisor, I have earmarked this hotel as ‘Not Recommended’ & I’ve shared this with other Travel professionals. If you value clean, comfortable, quality accommodations & prompt, courteous customer service, I would highly recommend you consider booking at a different hotel.

    We had a wonderful stay at Avid Hotel! After getting off our MSC cruise, we were tired and hoping for a place to relax—and they kindly let us check in early, which meant so much to us. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made the whole process easy. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and exactly what we needed after traveling. We truly appreciated the great service and hospitality. Highly recommend staying here!

    UPDATE: The manager, Greg, did reach out to me and apologize. He was professional and provided an appropriate resolution. While it doesn’t resolve what happened on that day, Greg did what he could to make it right after the fact and I appreciate that. Previous review: Do NOT book this hotel! We booked this hotel 3 weeks in advance directly through their website, received a confirmation code for the reservation. Then, the day of our reservation, 10 minutes before our flight lands they leave us a voicemail that they had to cancel our reservation because they oversold the hotel but “not to worry because they didn’t charge our card”. We were left scrambling trying to find a new hotel and last minute ended up having to pay way more for one. I have attempted to call the hotel multiple times and they don’t answer and there is no voicemail box to leave a message. I’ve contacted IHG corporate twice. First time they said they would call me back. It’s been over a week and no response. Second time, they said that they stand behind their hotel management and management told them that they couldn’t charge the card on file, which is a lie because two other IHG hotels charged that card the same weekend. And I also have a voicemail from the hotel stating the reason for the cancellation was because the hotel was oversold. After telling IHG corporate this they said they would call me back in 24 hours… we’ll see if they actually call back. I don’t have hopes at this point. Very poorly managed by Avid & IHG corporate. Do not book here if you want to risk not having a room when you show up.
