We chose this hotel based on what we now realise were misleading or possibly paid reviews, which is truly disappointing. After a 12-hour drive from Toronto, we were too exhausted to switch hotels once we realized the reality.
In short, our experience did not match the price or expectations, and we would not choose to stay here again.
When they advertise the room at $256 USD, keep in mind they also add about $41 USD in taxes, which significantly increases the total cost.
Unfortunately, the rooms were not clean. If you have a sensitive nose, the smell can be quite unpleasant and hard to ignore—it had an old, musty odor that lingered. The bedsheets were also not properly cleaned, which made the stay uncomfortable.
Amenities were extremely basic—towels and other items were provided at the bare minimum. Compared to places like Hilton Inns, you should lower your expectations to about a quarter of what you might normally receive.
One positive aspect was the noise level. Despite our window facing the railway and being close to the elevator, it was surprisingly quiet. The view wasn’t great, but the kids did enjoy watching the trains.
The best part of the experience was the receptionist, who was polite and handled our complaint with a good attitude. To their credit, when we complained about the sheets, they offered three complimentary drinks from their fridge.
Breakfast was decent, but they ran out of juice. Although staff seemed to attempt to fix the machine, it still wasn’t working afterward. Also, it was just a basic buffet—there were no made-to-order options or chef service.
Overall, unless you’re in a situation where you have no other options, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The service quality felt more in line with an $80 USD stay, while the actual price charged was far beyond reasonable. Even though we stayed in Washington for two more days, we chose not to remain at this hotel.
I hope this review helps you make an informed decision about where to stay.
