We stayed at this hotel for three nights. The location and staff are excellent. However, during our stay, we experienced daily water issues.
The morning after the first night, there was no hot water, and we had received no prior notification. When we reported it to the front desk, they said they were probably repairing a pipe, which required temporarily shutting off the hot water. It was frustrating to have no water for a shower, and I believe prior notification should have been given.
That same evening, we received another notification stating that maintenance by the water company would stop water at 10 PM and restore it by 6 AM the next day. Unfortunately, the next morning, there was still no water until 7:30 AM. Even if this issue was outside the hotel’s control, it was still annoying to have consecutive water problems.
After the water was finally restored, the toilet flooded and also leaked from the bottom later that day, which was disgusting. Even though maintenance personnel came quickly to repair the issues, this was the last night of our stay, and it left us feeling very frustrated.
Overall, this hotel has a great location and friendly staff, but the daily water problems made our stay very disappointed.

⭐ 1/5 — Water shutoff + roaches + no accountability
I checked in at the Hamilton Hotel and was told DC Water would be shutting off the water from 10pm–6am.
They tried to “accommodate” us with a couple of free water bottles, which doesn’t come close to making up for not having running water overnight.
When we got to the room, there was a roach crawling on the desk by the phone.
We were moved to another room, but the nightmare continued.
We woke up and still had no water—except it wasn’t back at 6am like we were told. It didn’t return until around 10am.
If you’re charging hotel prices, basic cleanliness and accurate communication shouldn’t be optional. Between the roach, the water situation, and the misleading timeline, this stay was completely unacceptable. I won’t be returning and can’t recommend it to anyone.
Avoid this hotel at all costs. It gets worse with every night. Loud heaters at night. No water this morning due to construction that was supposed to end an an hour ago. One of the worse hotels I have experienced. Deteriorating quality across the board. Not even complimentary water bottles. It's like they don't care how you feel. Location is the only saving grace.

The hotel itself is decent, but the service was terrible. We had food poisoning (from outside food) and asked for bottled water, but were told they only have a water fountain. How is that possible that a 100+ rooms hotel doesn’t not have bottled water??
After pushing at 3 am, they finally brought three small bottles of water. The next morning, they tried to charge us $10 per bottle. Worst experience ever. Stay away.

Front Desk & Service: The service at the front desk was disappointing. The staff was overly serious and unfriendly, and they failed to provide any overview of the hotel amenities during check-in.
Room & Facilities (Water Issues): My stay was significantly inconvenienced by plumbing issues. The water was shut off for repairs from 11 PM to 5 AM one night. While I understand maintenance is sometimes necessary, the following morning there was no hot water. Being unable to shower properly before starting my day is unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber.
Onsite Dining: The dining experience did not justify the cost. I ordered the short rib ravioli, which was priced at $47, but the dish was excessively salty and did not meet basic culinary expectations for the price point.
Conclusion: Between the lack of basic hospitality, the poor value in the restaurant, and the failure to restore hot water after a scheduled shutoff, this stay was far below the standard I expected for Washington DC.
