  Location was good, attentive staff, but faulty hvac fan was blowing cold air and we had to shut it off and turned cold, so we turned on and turned up the heat We woke up at 2:45am with an ear ache and stuffy nose. I reported it so they can fix it. Fan wouldn't shut off high and cold air.

  I have never been more disappointed by a hotel room in my adult life. While the staff was nothing but pleasant, the room itself was something I would expect out of a place that charges by the hour. Both nightstands while offering usb ports they were broken and ones was even missing the main internal component *as pictured* there was no such thing as a peaceful nights sleep with both a mini fridge and a heater that kick on and sing the song of their people so loud it sounds like a demon rising from hell in the middle of the room. And the bathroom, the bathroom was the actual worst part. First, there is no active ventilation, it’s like they put a vent above the shower and said “good enough” *pictured* so you better hope no one in your group has a bowel movement because guess what, you’re going to smell it for the next 20 minutes. And then we have the peace the resistance the mold, there was mold on the shower *pictured* on the the wall *pictured* and even in the floor tiles *not pictured because I noticed after the fact*. There was no feeling clean in that bathroom. Seriously not up to the standards I’ve come to expect from a holiday Inn. Do better.

  Surprisingly Great Stay in Southington! My husband and I stay in a lot of hotels for work and pleasure. I am rating the Holiday Inn Express because I found it to be far superior to most of the hotels in the same price range that I have stayed at. Starting with check in - the reservation was ready and the process was smooth. As IHG members we were offered an upgrade which was perfect for my husband’s work- a desk area with great light and still room for me to move around. The hotel was spotless and in most places looked modern and updated. The breakfast area was spotless as well. The little store had more to offer than any other I’ve seen at any hotel store or vending machine, and at much better prices. Super comfortable bed and pillows and well stocked bathroom. The real gem was the twin coffee machines - they grind the beans and create your coffee while you wait! Also a water filter reduces waste of plastic bottles. Always happy to see that! The employees were kind and considerate- though we didn’t need anything special from them. There are a lot of options - but I would recommend the Holiday Inn Express if work, or other activities take you to the Waterbury or Southington Ct. area.
