  Surprisingly Great Stay in Southington! My husband and I stay in a lot of hotels for work and pleasure. I am rating the Holiday Inn Express because I found it to be far superior to most of the hotels in the same price range that I have stayed at. Starting with check in - the reservation was ready and the process was smooth. As IHG members we were offered an upgrade which was perfect for my husband’s work- a desk area with great light and still room for me to move around. The hotel was spotless and in most places looked modern and updated. The breakfast area was spotless as well. The little store had more to offer than any other I’ve seen at any hotel store or vending machine, and at much better prices. Super comfortable bed and pillows and well stocked bathroom. The real gem was the twin coffee machines - they grind the beans and create your coffee while you wait! Also a water filter reduces waste of plastic bottles. Always happy to see that! The employees were kind and considerate- though we didn’t need anything special from them. There are a lot of options - but I would recommend the Holiday Inn Express if work, or other activities take you to the Waterbury or Southington Ct. area.

  Great customer service from the time of check in to the time of check out. The room was very clean with great quality soap, shampoo, and lotion. The bed was very comfortable along with the pillows and comforter. Great continental breakfast. Highly recommended!

  Very good hotel overall (7.9/10). Stayed 1 night in April. Room size was good for one person, but I imagine would feel cramped with multiple people. In fairness though, I think there are only a few of these smaller rooms in the hotel. Everything worked as it should. Very comfy bed, with a good mix of pillows. Bathroom was fairly small with limited bench space around the basin. Shower was very good. TV was good, as was the channel selection. No TV guide, just a laminated channel list. Breakfast was very good with lots of options (for context, I'm satisfied with a bowl of cereal or some toast). The breakfast room was a good size. Staff were good. I would stay again, as for the price paid ($92 total for a Saturday) it was pretty good value.

  The staff is so nice. I haven’t noticed any of issues some people reported in other reviews but the kindness of the staff easily makes up for any shortcomings. Thank you

  I booked this place by mistake, thinking it was the Holiday Inn in Mildale (another part of Southington) but it ended up being the same price, and I got free breakfast. Check in was easy. My room was clean and toasty warm on a cold winter's night. No frills place, but all I needed was a comfortable bed (check) hot shower (check) and some food to get me going. I caught the tail end of breakfast, so things were a little on the cold and stale side, but the magic pancake machine and the coffee were both pluses. I would recommend this place for overnight stays, as the price was reasonable and the place had a clean and friendly vibe.
