The location of this hotel is perfect for a quick trip to Mystic! The rooms were clean and beds extremely comfortable; our stay was just one night but we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast in the morning with several delicious options, rich coffee and added entertainment of the automated pancake machine! Our family stayed here at the same time as another guest who reviewed and indicated no hot water in the showers, and issues with the response and condescension of the staff. While I will agree that the hot water was a little finicky and took several minutes to get warmed up, we did witness the entire conversation that this guest had with the front desk - LOUDLY in the lobby - while we were having breakfast. Im sorry they experienced such frustration but there are certainly more appropriate ways to deal with that than screaming and disrupting an entire lobby of people. The person at the desk handled it with grace, so kudos to them! I would not normally mention another review in mine however I feel that the management team at this hotel should have perhaps a different perspective. We would absolutely stay here again, and likely will for a longer period of time.

If you want hot water in the morning to take a shower, do not come here.
I went to take a shower around 8:15 this morning and it was cold. I called and inquired with the front desk asking if this was a typical issue. They assured me it wasn’t, and moved me to a different room for showering purposes only. That room’s shower was ALSO ice cold. I was infuriated by this and the front desk did nothing to remedy it what so ever. They were condescendingly nice, you know the whole “ma’am” spiel attitude I’m talking about. Instead of being like “yeah, that really is terrible and I’d also be upset about a cold shower” they were fake nice and masked their rudeness. My boyfriend who is nice and reasonable went to speak to them and he came back up agreeing with me that the front receptionist and manager suck. It was more so the manager than the receptionist up front with that fake nice attitude.

My 2-star rating is not a reflection of the hotel itself, but due to the fact that when we came in late one night, we saw a roach crawling on the counter by the microwave and fridge. We didn't have any food there or any food that was left open. We reported it to the general manager Brandon, who stated he will "take care of it and will get someone right on it" and offered to change our room." The hotel itself is nice and customer service is 10/10. The general manager, Brandon, was very helpful and welcoming during our stay -10/10 for that. However, this takes away. If it weren't for this situation, I would highly recommend this hotel.

It's so convenient for the hotel to be walking distance from Olde Mistick Village and the Aquarium. Plenty of restaurants are just a short walk away and I-95 is just up the street.
Basic amenities such as TV, microwave and cooler are provided in the rooms and having there are Ice machines, a small gym, Pool, Laundry room, and even an ATM in the building. Beds are super comfy and clean, with the room being open and spacious. Complimentary breakfast is also provided!
The hallways can be a bit creaky and some outlet plugs are loose or very finicky with giving power in a certain position. The cooler doesn't really cool food unless its in the designated holder where ice surrounds it. It also took a bit to figure out how to turn the window shades up and down.
My visit here for a night was a nice time. It had most if not all of the basics that a hotel should have. It's right next to a tourist area and there's even a nearby bus route to New London! While I can't say anything about the prices as I came with family, I had no problems coming here and may come back again if a snowstorm doesn't happen again.
