I’m kicking myself for not staying at the Fairfield this time. Communication and hospitality has been few and far between here for the same price as a decent hotel. Every time I’ve had to go to the front desk I was tested as a burden. The parking lot is dodgy and poorly lit if you’re not using the main entrance. I also wouldn’t recommend this hotel for families with kids. We spent a limited amount of time in the lobby to get out of the room and were made to feel more than unwelcomed and went back to our tiny room. The shower is tiny and outdated and it’s more than clear the owners have chosen the cheapest option for every “amenitiy” to maximize profit. I asked to have my room turned down not being aware of their “low par housekeeping in exchange for additional amenities” which is weird because there are no other amenities? This hotel certainly is “self service”. They served green ham, potatoes and dehydrated eggs for their continental breakfast. With cold cereal, no milk and old bread. I’ve also bought tissue paper thicker than the walls here and all I’ve heard is people slamming doors and running through the hallway. Which is weird as we have seen maybe three other guests here. We ended up leaving a day early just for our sanity. Save yourself the headache and stay somewhere else.

Solid stay- wasn’t crazy about no microwaves in the rooms and the 1 shared microwave in the lobby. Gym was a bit disappointing with lack of higher lb weights. The Canadian bacon in the breakfast bar was really bland. Other then that a solid option as a hotel in montrose, comfortable beds, friendly staff and good food and coffee

This is a 5-star hotel. I’ve stayed at over 200 hotels worldwide and more than 30 in the US so far from 3 to 5 stars. This is one of the best hotels in the world and among the top three in the US. The sanitation standards are top-level from A to Z. Worth every single penny. I will come back without any hesitation if I face another winter storm. Thank you.

We stayed here for two nights while visiting Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, and the hotel far exceeded our expectations. The online photos we saw of the room showed that the furnishings looked old, so we were pleasantly surprised that the hotel looked like it had been recently renovated including our room. The staff were also incredibly friendly and the breakfast was great. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
