Last time I stayed here (several years ago) I was not impressed...thought I would give it another chance. Wrong decision! Room on the third floor, elevator broken. Thankfully at 70 I'm in decent shape but it still was not fun lugging my bag and laptop up 3 flights of stairs...500 points added to my account for the inconvenience...HA... I'll NEVER make the mistake of staying here again 🤬

This stay left us heartbroken and honestly shaken. We booked two nights because we were so excited it was our first time ever seeing snow. But on our first night, the news announced a major snowstorm and dangerous cold front headed straight for the area. As tourists who have never driven in snow before, we were terrified. Our biggest concern was simply getting back to the Denver airport alive and safe.
We went to the front desk hoping for understanding, and explained everything to the manager, Victor that this wasn’t a normal cancellation, this was a weather emergency for people who have zero experience driving in icy mountain conditions. We hoped for empathy, or at least some reassurance.
Instead, we were dismissed with, “We’re a ski town and it snows a lot sooo…”
That sentence alone told us exactly how little they cared.
Because we booked through Priceline, they refused to make any exception, even though we were genuinely scared for our safety. It hurt to feel like our lives didn’t matter as long as the reservation stayed paid. We weren’t asking for anything unreasonable… just for them to acknowledge that not everyone is from a ski town or knows how to drive in a snowstorm.
We’ve stayed at Holiday Inn hotels for so many of our trips, and we always trusted the brand. But this experience made it clear that at least at this location, policy mattered more than people.
We left feeling disappointed, unprotected, and honestly sad that a place we chose for comfort didn’t show any humanity in a moment when we really needed it.
We won’t be returning.

Hotel is ok for the area. Upon arrival and check in the older lady working the front desk was rude and seemed irritated for disrupting her being on the computer as she slammed down the pen. The room could use better vacuum service and the PTAC (ac and heating unit) did need a really good cleaning as the burnt hair smell when turning on the heater was not pleasant to smell all night. Breakfast was good and hot. After breakfast I did go to the front desk to ask if I could cancel my next night stay without being charged I was told by front desk that they would still charge me, and that a AGM or GM was not available to discuss it further. Very unacceptable, especially since I work for IHG as a chief engineer. Will find other accommodations next time I’m in this area of Colorado. Customer service should always be #1 also towels need to be updated at hotel all our towels were frayed and if you like hot water it’s not here Lukewarm at best. Also great views by the cracked wall window and no peep hole covers if I can see out somebody can see in
