  Great Budget friendly option if you were Skiing at Keystone or A-Basin. Breakfast is the best I’ve ever had for this type of hotel

  I have read several reviews about ptarmigan Lodge. Here’s my 2c. When my wife and I pulled up with our kids the other night… We realized we had stayed at this lodge 10 years ago to the day. We would rate this the same experience now as back then. For the age of the lodge… I believe the staff does a very good job in keeping the property clean and it is priced perfectly for what you get. I will agree with everyone on here that says the breakfast is very good and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. I laughed when I read someone’s post that mentioned the Lake view wasn’t great… not certain they were looking in the right direction, but it is absolutely breathtaking. We stayed in unit number 205… overall, our room was clean, and the beds were clean and comfortable. Towels and bathroom were clean. The rooms are challenging to get the proper temperature. Electric baseboard heating is hard to get right. The ceiling fan was definitely helpful. We will be back again this year for a few nights to ski. We are from the front range so this place is a perfect spot!!!!!

  We have stayed at this hotel several times and we really like it for it’s location, affordability, and old school vibe. It is an older property, but it’s well maintained and very charming. It’s not a cookie cutter hotel like so many others. We hope that this hotel is not converted to another type of property, as we have heard might be the case. We hope to be able to stay here for years to come for our trips to Dillon/Frisco/Keystone/Loveland.

  We couldn't ask for any better for the $. Top notch in my book all the way around for the money you pay. This was just slightly above half the cost of renting an air bnb in the area. It was everything we needed and then some. Sad that this place will be closing for what's most likely going to be more of that modern garbage. This place has charm and personality. Im glad we were able to stay here, pretty sure it'll be gone before we ever make it back to Dillon.

  I want to say I've stayed in the Ptarmigan several times over the past several years and each experience has been consistent and pleasant. So where to start??? Breakfast is fantastic. The breakfast has usually consisted of bacon, scrambled eggs, waffles, toast, and the normal beverages. There is also an assortment of puddings, refrigerated fruit cups, milk, and other assorted items that can be had. One of the great perks of staying here in my mind. I'm not paying for a room and going somewhere for breakfast. Plus, if you are so inclined, you can pick up a small snack to take with you, they have granola bars and other snacks for your enjoyment. At least one building is smoke and pet free. There are signs posted on the entries and outside the building, so you really have to try and ignore the signs, can't miss them accidentally. So when we walked into the building on our last stay, what did we smell??? Some MJ, weed, marijuana, whatever you want to call it...as an aside, why would you want to put something in your mouth that smell that bad?...but I digress. If you must smoke, do it outside, not inside the building where everyone get to smell that obnoxious odor. We called the desk and they were very concerned about this occurrence. We stepped out for dinner and when we came back, the odor was gone. I'm hoping the guests were ousted as well, but maybe not. Anyway...Kudos to the staff for taking their responsibilities seriously. The building(s) are old, but well maintained. Each time we have gone we have seen the owner either walking down the buildings or tidying up the place. So you know there is some pride of ownership. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and relatively odor free, which I consider a win! The prices are very competitive for the accommodations received. Thanks for a great place to stay!
