This was not the Holiday Inn Express we are used to stopping at. There is a whole bunch of work being done and it makes it a little inconvenient. We had to go through a work zone to get to our room. We had to use an outside door that was literally propped open most of the time. Our room had no remote, the towel rack was broken off and our view was also a construction zone. Breakfast was okay, but there was no bread. I wish they would've given us a heads up on the condition of the hotel, but there was no information relayed to us. They should at least offer extra points. The only bright spot was Lilly. She was working when we arrived and she was working hard. She was very pleasant.

I have never experienced a Holiday Inn with such poor quality. The room was shabby, torn and spotty curtains and we were supplied with two towels for three guests.T owels were small and thin. The beds were comfortable enough but not the pillows. The pool is in an adjacent building so not convenient. The pool was warm. The first night the hot tub was hot but no jets. The second night the hot tub light was floating in the hot tub and not attached to the hot tub wall. The construction was not noisy. The hotel is just run down but charges prime rates. I would never stay there again. I was really expecting a better experience.

This hotel is undergoing a much needed renovation. While my kids absolutely loved the fort beds in the room, this room def was pre-renovation and seemed run down. It was def a blast to the past with the old gaming console and dvds. Clean as it could be, and employees were very nice. Breakfast was fine. For a one night stay it was fine, but outer door security was nonexistant due to the renovation, and it was odd walking thru construction zones to get to your room.

First I would say the hotel staff are great..friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is a mess. The in progress remodel is one thing…portions of the hotel closed off are understandable, but the furniture dump behind the hotel is ridiculous. There is broken glass, old furniture all over the place, and trash spilling out into adjacent open space. Remodel aside, the hotel has lots of issues…elevator not working properly, hot tub jets not working, key card readers very unreliable (some not working), outside doors are all propped open so any security is compromised. Carpet in hall on second floor was coming up and tripped my wife. The noise from people just moving around on floor above was surprisingly loud. Finally, I would say breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. It came across on google as one of two 3 star hotels in Cortez, however, I would say this is not more than a two star and more on par with much cheaper offerings. To pay $130/night for that experience was very disappointing.

For a hotel that is under renovations i wouldn't have know. The only clue was the fact the hot tub jets dont work. The room was clean and the beds oh so comfortable. The check in was easy and the front desk clerk so sweet. I would stay here again if im ever in Colorado staying near this town.
