- MHMonroe House2 days ago1.0This motel is a dump. The staff was very unprofessional. The room had an awful smell and the bedspread was dirty. We walked into the room and right out. When we walked back to our vehicle to leave, a patron walked up to us not knowing we were leaving. She advised us that our vehicle wouldn't be safe in the parking lot because we had things in it. She showed us her door that had been pried in an attempt to get broken into. I went to the office to ask if we could not be charged for the room. We walked to the room to show her we hadn't been in the room. We had only been on the property for 5 minutes. The front desk person talked to a manager and she assured me we wouldn't be charged. They charged us anyway. I guess being charged for the room was a price we paid for our safety!

The first place we stopped, around the corner up the hill wanted $50 for a 14lb dog, and $75 for the 50lb dog! So we left and found this place down the street. Clean basic rooms, safe location. Good service. Waffles, juice, coffee, raisin toast, for breakfast included in the very reasonable rates. Heat worked great. Small fridge, microwave, and coffee in room. Mattress comfortable. Would stay here again.

Then I realized the fly was actually another cockroach! They were big so they've been infested for a while. I took photos and videos and the guy at the front counter gave me my money back, no questions asked...as if he has done that many times! Blankets were also stained and fridge had food particles inside. No wonder the room was only $69/night! DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT CLEANLINESS 🤮

If they skip the easy cleaning no way they do the more difficult stuff. Lady working the front counter seemed nice but didn’t seem surprised when we left right away. Owners need to step up their game
