I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express over Thanksgiving and had a very disappointing experience. My partner and I found the room and facilities outdated and not as advertised in the photos. The noise levels at night were unbearable, and overall it was very uncomfortable. We ended up leaving two nights early because of how uncomfortable the stay was. Even worse, the hotel refused to provide any partial refund for the unused nights, despite my attempts to resolve it through both the front desk and the booking service. It’s disappointing to see such a lack of customer care. I hope the management will consider improving their service in the future.

My family booked a King Suite at the Holiday Inn Express in Watsonville for a week, expecting it to comfortably accommodate three adults — two in the king bed and one on the pull-out couch. Unfortunately, the pull-out bed was unusable. There was absolutely no cushioning between the fabric and the springs; it felt like lying directly on metal. After just one night, we asked the front desk if we could move to a different room, as the setup was clearly not suitable for three people. The staff’s response was dismissive and unhelpful, essentially telling us, “It’s a pull-out bed, what did you expect?” As someone who has stayed in many hotels, including sleeping on pull-outs as a Titanium Elite with Marriott (theres no Marriots in Watsonville😭), I can confidently say this is not the industry standard. Pull-outs can be decent; this one was not. To make matters worse, we were in town to say goodbye to my dying grandfather. The last thing we needed was to return each night from the hospital to a room that didn’t meet our basic need for three places to sleep. We ultimately checked out and moved to a Hilton nearby, where the pull-out bed was perfectly fine. The situation was further complicated by the fact that we prepaid through Hotels.com. The hotel refused to check us out early because doing so would have triggered a refund. We had to push hard just to get written confirmation that we had left the room due to the accommodations being unsuitable. The whole experience was unnecessarily stressful. Rather than helping us, the staff hid behind “policy,” showing zero empathy. The King Suite was advertised as fitting at least four people, but it clearly did not. Between the poor quality of the pull-out bed and the terrible customer service, this was a very disappointing and frustrating stay. I hope they feel good about charging a grieving family for a room they couldn't use. Boooooo.

One of the worst Holiday inn experiences ever had. There are many bugs in the bathroom I had to take them out myself. They were on walls and towels. The shower water was cold. You would have to let the cold water run for more than 5 mins to get it warm enough to shower. Large waste of water and ironically there’s signs of saving water on the wall. The noise from the hallway and rooms above was the worst. The noise comes directly through doors or ceiling. It’s like the person speaking were right beside you. Once anyone turn the water on above or next door, the pump noise comes right through.
