If you are ADA: DO NOT BOOK HERE! AVOID! Made an ADA reservation for an ADA suite 6 months ago. Was allowed to check into the suite using the app. Arrived after a long drive to be told that the ADA suite was not available at all, meaning they sold us an ADA suite, let us book it, let us CHECK IN on the app, and then told us it was not available when we arrived. We were never contacted about this. We were never told or called at ANY point. They were more than happy to sell us a room that didn’t exist! Again, we were allowed to check in using the app, only to then be told later that the room was not actually there.

Our ocean view through scaffolding. Not worth the upgrade.

Went for a New Years Eve dinner at Moofish Cafe. They never reserved our table from Open Table. Had to wait an extra half hour. Waitress strongly suggested New Years Eve Dinner special of steak and lobster. It came totally covered in some nasty sauce and we said it had horrible presentation, but we said we would try to eat it. Felt sick right away. Once we tried to eat it we realized it tasted awful, but since we tried to eat it, was never offered any compensation. A total waste of money ($75) and a huge disappointment for our date night. Please avoid going here since the food was horrible and they don't take accountability. Should have been no charge for this huge disappointment!!! After seeing a response from the hotel, it's clear that they are only interested in keeping their money I wasted rather than offering a refund or some type of compensation. An apology is only so good when they have the opportunity to offer some compensation and just say "I'm sorry". ☹️

As a Diamond Elite IHG member who’s stayed at countless hotels over the past few months, I can confidently say this was the worst stay by far. We walked into a room that felt like an old Motel 6 where they leave the light on, and by morning it turned into a fruit fly festival — thanks to rotting fruit hidden under the TV stand. The so-called King Junior Suite was a joke, with a broken pull-out couch and decor that hasn’t seen this decade. The front desk staff was rude and dismissive, and when we asked for a late checkout, we were told we had to come downstairs to reprogram the keys and that housekeeping might come in at any time afterward, which was about as relaxing as it sounds. Valet parking turned out to be an unsecured lot next to the hotel, and at 1:30 AM I got an alert that my car alarm was going off — though I could at least admire it from my “ocean view” room. For perspective, a Holiday Inn Express in San Pablo was cleaner, newer, and far more luxurious than this Crowne Plaza. Ventura is beautiful; this hotel is an embarrassment to the IHG brand.

This hotel won't be for everybody. There's lots of music playing (often live), a bar is immediately seen when you walk in, and there are lots of parties here. I'm not a fan of the high energy vibes but I was glad that at least the room was quiet and clean, with a newly renovated type of look and the beachfront access cannot be beat. I rode bikes all along the beach and did not see even one other hotel with similar beach access. They truly are unique in that aspect. The food in the restaurants was so-so but the customer service was astounding. I was misled by the website that there would be a jacuzzi but this was unfortunately not true. I also would have really loved if they offered a complimentary breakfast because they are at a similar price point compared to hotels that do offer it. Finally the parking is a little wonky because your options are either valet each day or paying for self parking across the street. Neither of these feels convenient to me to be frank. I wish the hotel parking lot had a section for valet and a section for self parking but it's pretty limited so I can see why they need to use the additional public parking structure. Either way, I can imagine returning here for the convenience of beach access.
