We had an extremely disappointing experience at this hotel, especially considering we stayed twice within one week for their cruise package.
Before booking, I confirmed multiple times that parking would be covered for up to 15 days and would apply across both of our stays (4/14–4/15 and 4/21–4/22). These were separate reservations, but I was clearly assured the cruise package benefits would extend through both. However, on the morning of 4/22, I noticed a parking charge and went to the front desk to resolve it. Instead of an apology, I was told, “You need to call us directly—you probably spoke with reservations, and they’ll tell guests anything to make them happy.” This response was dismissive and unprofessional. Regardless of who I spoke with, I should be able to trust the information provided by the hotel. While the charge was eventually adjusted, the lack of accountability was frustrating.
During our first stay, housekeeping knocked on our door at 8:30 AM and woke us up, then seemed surprised we were still in the room—despite checkout not being until 11 AM. I understand servicing early checkouts, but this felt poorly coordinated. Additionally, I requested extra pillows from the front desk upon arrival and followed up when they never arrived, but they were never delivered.
Unfortunately, our second stay was significantly worse. We booked a junior suite, but upon arrival, half the lights didn’t work, the air conditioning only cooled part of the room, and the TV was positioned facing a wall—making it essentially unusable from either the bed or seating area.
I contacted the front desk to request assistance with the air conditioning and was told someone would come up shortly. After nearly two hours with no response, I followed up via the hotel’s help text line, which was ignored. I called again, requested pillows (again), and reminded them about the AC issue—once again, no one ever came.
At that point, I mentioned the situation to the front desk and was told a manager would contact me. I didn’t push for compensation at the time, despite spending most of our stay uncomfortable, overheated, and unable to use basic amenities we paid for.
The most concerning issue occurred when we retrieved our car from valet and discovered my phone charger was missing. I have kept that charger in the same spot in my car for years and had just seen it there the day before. The only person who had access to the vehicle in that time was valet. While I understand this is a serious claim, there is no other explanation for it being gone.
A manager did eventually reach out and offered 50% off the room, which I appreciate. However, this does not fully make up for the repeated lack of service, unresolved maintenance issues, and the loss of personal property.
Overall, this experience fell far below expectations. Between being ignored multiple times, staying in an uncomfortable room, and having an item go missing from my vehicle, I cannot recommend this hotel. As an IHG member, this experience has also made me reconsider staying at other IHG properties in the future.

It’s been a while since I experienced a sub-par hotel. Bathroom sink would get filled by water from the drain (same with at least one of the other rooms of the group of 16 we traveled with). Bathtub drain backed up and didn’t drain freely. Issues with the TV. Picture would disappear but sound still on. Hotel engineer came up to look at it and I thought he had fixed it but the internal connection was defective. Rooms were outdated. One of the members of our group had a cockroach in their room. Other members had varying issues in some of the rooms. Would I stay there again? No, there are too many other options. Parking in street and garage is limited. Buffet is super expensive for what it is. Restaurant staff was very pleasant. They deserve some kudos but other than that, there are too many other options available.

I stayed on April 4th before a cruise departure the next morning. I had prebooked online for a rate of $251.20 for a room for 2 people. When I arrived to check-in, they seemed surprised that there were two adults in the room and questions ensued and I was told I'd need to provide ID and contact information for my partner. It seemed odd, but I did. What was more odd was the fact that they asked me to sign a rate sheet agreeing to a room of $694.00 per night. When I told them that wasn't the rate I had booked, they looked it up and said something to the effect of "Oh my, it does seem that you got a very good deal. Just go ahead and sign the sheet." I told them I wouldn't sign the sheet until the rate was adjusted, and I crossed it out and wrote in the correct rate on the sheet. It may have been a simple mistake, but it certainly seemed scammy, and I can only assume had I not noticed the rate, I would have been stuck paying that rate after signing the sheet. It wasn't a great start to the visit.
The room was sizable but time-worn. We were on the second floor and had a sliding door that opened onto a patio that connected to the pool. It was a nice amenity, but not one that we used other than for our initial perusal of the area. The sliding door also seemed to be very dated and was wooden. It was quite difficult to open, but I suppose energy efficiency isn't as important on the coast as it is in the midwest.
There was a hole in the vinyl upholstery on the chair. There was nowhere to hang towels in the bathroom--they were tucked in a cubby in the vanity which one couldn't reach from the shower, so they had to sit on the toilet while showering. After words, I tried to hang my towel on the closet doorknob but two of the three screws for the doorknob were missing, so the knob spun downward dropping the towel on the floor. I ended up draping it over one of the lamps in the room.
The surrounding area had some lovely spots. We had an al fresco italian dinner and the next morning friends picked us up and we had a delicious Easter breakfast at San Pedro Cafe. They dropped us at the cruise terminal afterwards, and it was the easiest cruise embarkation I'd ever had. I've only ever cruised out of New York, Florida, and Texas before.
All in all the hotel was serviceable, but that was about it. The registration snafu definitely left a bad taste that may have tainted the rest of the experience. I remarked to my partner as we were leaving, that they were being very generous with the Crowne Plaza name for this property. I've stayed at Holiday Inn Expresses that were far nicer.

I stayed here the night before my cruise. The lady who checked me in seemed very annoyed with my basic questions like, How does the breakfast I pay for work? & Asking about the port shuttle. I had purchased a harbor view room with breakfast, the room was on the second floor with a tree in front of the window. The charger ports on the bedside lamps did not work. There were very few towels. The room was very clean & the bed very comfortable.
There were signs saying vending on various floors, apparently those were outdated because I searched all over. All they have is a self service market in the lobby where a liter bottle of water was $8.50. I would only recommend this place if someone wanted something very close to the port & did not purchase the harbor view upgrade. The breakfast buffet is at the on site restaurant and was good, it wasn't outstanding but it was delicious for the value & had a good variety. The employees at the restaurant were amazing though!!!
Adding the Harbor View from my room for reference. Tbh the harbor is pretty industrial anyways, but the tree was ridiculous for the extra cost.

This Crowne plaza is without doubt very convenient if you’re taking a cruise ship out of the port, which is almost across the road from the hotel! That said the actual Hotel is absolutely in need of renovation and refurbishment! The bed is comfortable enough but that is probably the best thing I can say… the a/c doesn’t work properly, despite a maintenance person coming to try to fix it and many things are worn, like the inside of the bath, which is delaminating. The headboard was split and the curtains were stained. The cleaning staff work hard to try to maintain the rooms but it’s an uphill struggle.
Also the breakfast restaurant buffet is plentiful and replenished frequently , although the service is chaotic due to obvious understaffing and the waiting times to be seated are unnecessarily long as it’s poorly organised.
