  Ok so it's not new but the bed and pillows clean and comfy. A very good shower as in great water pressure. Breakfast was ok, but the staff are the nicest ever!

  Hotel is old and has seen better days. Curtains torn. Place did not feel safe or clean, we left and went to stay at a different hotel it felt so bad. I felt like I needed a shower after walking into the room. Old furniture. Stains on all the furniture. Doors chipped. Customer service at the front desk was entirely unhelpful. Whole check in process was confusing and frustrating. Amazing how wildly different Hamptons can be. Unfortunate to have wasted money and had to pay double to go somewhere else. But worth it for our piece of mind to be somewhere clean. Steer clear.

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Stay in San Marcos! Ignore the Low Reviews! I just wrapped up a wonderful five-day, four-night stay at the Hampton Inn San Marcos, and I have to say, this hotel is absolutely luxurious! I can't believe the low ratings I've seen in other reviews—they must be crazy. This was a fantastic experience from start to finish. I booked this room for myself and a friend after finishing a long and painfully eight-hour shift at the hospital that I work at. It was the perfect place to unwind and recharge. I even picked up my friend right after work, and he enjoyed the hotel stay, and after our long day, it was easy getting back to his house (only four minutes away!) and then just as easy to drop him off there when our stay was over. First off, the cleanliness was incredible. The rooms looked nicely great and so clean it was as if housekeeping had just left a second ago. Seriously, I even did a quick mold check (occupational habit, perhaps!), and found no mold at all. The attention to cleanliness here is top-notch. The location was also perfect for me! My friend lives only four minutes away from the hotel in the area, so it was incredibly nice going over to his house and hanging out with him afterwards. We also took a refreshing dip in the pool, which was a nice way to relax. The breakfast truly exceeded expectations. I'd give it an 8.5 out of 10—definitely upper class for a hotel breakfast. The scrambled eggs were nice and good, and the bacon was nice, crispy, and sweet—perfection! The coffee tasted warm, nice, and sweet as well. I will absolutely be coming back here the next time I have vacation from work, and I will definitely be bringing my family too if I get the chance!

  Beds are super comfy. Fall asleep fast. Room is clean and the AC unit runs quiet enough. Continental breakfast is supposed to be ready 6am, it isn't. Pool and jacuzzi are nice and clean.
