  Every person in this town I have interacted with today has been mean to me and it has not been very much fun. The young lady working at this hotel was the first person to be kind to me and help me charge my phone. I asked half a dozen mystified employees at the hotel down the street for help in a challenging situation and they looked at me like I was from outer space This singular employee at the best Western plus Royal Oak has been the most hospitable, genuine, kind, compassionate individual. I have encountered in the last 36 hours. She refused to take a tip or Venmo despite me insisting several times she would not accept my money. This hotel has zero rooms available tonight. It’s Valentine’s Day and this woman has been working hard on a busy weekend. Yet she is the only person who has managed to be kind to me in a moment when I am vulnerable and at risk. Thank you for being a hero. I hope you get a raise and a promotion for understanding what hospitality actually means and practicing it. One million stars for you.

  Glad I chose this location for my weekend getaway. It was very welcoming. The breakfast choices were standard but the quality and care for the food served was great! Thanks to Des from the breakfast team! Will definitely stay again when I'm back in town!

  Good location near the freeway entrance without any noise. Quiet property with a nice lobby. Room was clean. Understaffed. Long check-in times, rude night manager, spotty/average breakfast depending on the attendant. The breakfast dining room is separate from the hotel and one of the biggest I've seen. Pool area is nice and workout room isn't bad either. It's a very good value and the rooms are clean with excellent water pressure and lots of TV channels. Overall Recommended.

  The evening reception with popcorn hot chocolate beer and wine was non-existent. And we were told the Friday night movie the day before on top of the evening reception and all the amenities was also non-existent. Apparently there's only one employee that does everything. Check people in, answer the phone, prepare the popcorn, refill the hot chocolate, take out the beer and wine and serve, start the movie, etc etc.... we chose this site over the other Best Western Plus, that we had previously stayed at and enjoyed, which did too the evening reception with beer and wine popcorn etc.. to try something different, but we now know that the Best Western 2 mi away isn't much better option and cheaper cost. Also the walls are so thin that we can hear people on both sides of us talking, or even coughing, like they were in our own room with us, which is not appealing while you are trying to sleep. The breakfast lady is the hardest working employee they have and very sweet and helpful. They pull and hot tub although we did not use them are nice.
