The Hayes Mansion is a historical property that's incredibly lovely and well maintained. The Palm and Ember restaurant has some delicious food options, including Vegan selections. There's also a lovely library room where they have tea service in the afternoons that's also a terrific place to enjoy a glass of wine and a snack. The rooms are lovely and updated. There's a swimming pool and hot tub for the guests to enjoy. The grounds are large, green and lovely!

We enjoyed our wedding celebration here! We have returned for our anniversary this year, and it has been so lovely despite the cold. This beautiful hotel is nicely situated far from all the noisy places and busy streets of San Jose. I love that it is nicely located in a quiet neighborhood area. We enjoyed the food, the well equipped gym, the game room with family, friendly service and all it offers. We will return again.

I don’t think this hotel is terrible, but it definitely wasn’t worth the price. During my stay for a wedding, we found a cockroach on the bed—horrifying. The front desk only had one person that night during a huge wedding, phones were ringing nonstop, and another guest was also complaining about the loud wedding music from the ballroom in the same building. We were moved to another room, but the cockroach was barely acknowledged. At checkout, I tried to follow up, hoping for some compensation and was initially brushed off since they were “too busy,” but another staff member helped us right away after we finally switched lines. The experience and customer service were frustrating enough that I wouldn’t stay here again.

The place is pretty, but the service was not that great. They have filtered water stations, but the water ends up just tasting like tap water. The TVs are set up to be pretty restrictive and don't allow for casting.
