This hotel was a pleasant surprise at its low price point for the area. I wanted to do a bit of sightseeing without spending too much and while this wasn't the most convenient location, I was able to get where I wanted to go on foot and via public transit. The front desk was kind and efficient, and the room is a decent size. My climate control unit was noisy, but I didn't hear other guests. It would be nice if we could cast our personal devices to the TV. I think this hotel is a great choice at this price point.

Room carpet and bathroom are not cleaned thoroughly before checked-in. There was hair near the hook on bathroom door where you hang clean clothes to dress up after shower. How’s this acceptable to leave the previous guest’s mess before the next checked in?! There was what seems like wood prick on hand towel, small drip of red stain on bathroom floor and a piece of chip and small plastic on carpet. I didnt have time to check the room as i left my luggage and went on to tour immediately. Discovered these when i was back at night and about to shower; there was no duty manager at night. Next morning, I wanted to ask the duty manager but there’s a crowd at front desk. I went off to breakfast and saw the cleaning trolley/ lady outside my room when i returned so i waited. Same chip and plastic was on the carpet. Cannot take it anymore, I went down to ask if housekeeping here includes vacuuming, the duty manager said yes but apparently not because the chip and plastic was still on the carpet. Book somewhere else more convenient if you’re on similar budget. I prepaid on Agoda so probably not much service since $ collected? Disappointed given this is international brand, Holiday Inn. Wont book any Holiday Inn again.

ROACHES.
We were on the 17th floor. A cockroach appeared between the double window panes, dead. That was not super alarming (it's dead, maybe it came from another guest and the hotel pesticides worked and killed it). Then I got coffee from the breakfast buffet and there was A BABY ROACH FLOATING IN IT. Literally. See pictures. This was from the big carafe, and then I went straight to my room. So everyone that day who drank that coffee had roach juice in it.
I went to the manager on duty, who was super friendly. He said they could refund two of my days breakfasts. I paid for three days breakfast. I guess drinking roaches still costs money? Now when this happened, it was 9am and I had to leave for my flight at 4am so I was in quite a hard spot. Finding another hotel to check into at 9am? That would cost me two nights charge when I already paid for a hotel? A hotel that won't refund me for the roach breakfast they serve? Let alone refund the room....that has roaches. The kicker - I reported it, we went to the scheduled ticketed event we had, came back and the roach in my room was STILL THERE, despite room service clearly having come and made the beds. it was still there when I left. Room 1722. Didn't even have the decency to remove it.
There were many cheaper hotels I considered, but we chose here for the view (which was great), the gym (which was serviceable) and to make sure there were not bugs. Jokes on me. There was LITERALLY A COCKROACH IN MY COFFEE.
I wouldn't recommend staying at this place to anyone. I will actively tell people to not trust their food because they clearly have a roach problem if the roaches are out during the day like that, getting their coffee.

The reason for two stars is they DID NOT TELL US about the terrible noise we will hear all night long if our room would be next to or close to the elevators
Every 5-20 seconds this huge noise and the room almost shaking; first we thought it is from the very busy street with trams (sounded like a large train is going by) and we thougth it will die down at night. Once it did not we realized the great noise comes from the elevators
We could not sleep that night, and we had an important meeting early next morning; plus parking $49/night extra
So, if you stay at this hotel (which is very clean, good amenities great bed and great batroom) make sure you get a room away from the elevators if you want to sleep!!!

The hotel looks great, features a very pleasant lobby, and offers good parking at an additional cost of over $50 per night. PLEASE READ THIS; IT WILL SAVE YOU SOME TROUBLE: “When we arrived, they assigned us a room located right next to the elevator. Believe me, it was one of the worst nights I have ever spent in a hotel in my life. I tried to get us moved immediately the moment we realized our room was situated right next to the elevator, but the front desk staff told me they could only make the change the following day. The next day, they did move us to a different room—but to our surprise, at 7:00 AM the day after that, we realized they had placed us right next to the room where the hotel housekeeping staff stores all their supplies. It sounds like a joke, but that is exactly what happened.” Anyway, thanks for such a horrible first night—and such a noisy morning the following day! If location is your priority, the hotel is indeed very well situated. However, let’s be honest: if you are traveling by car, you are going to use that car to get everywhere anyway. The Golden Gate Bridge and several other points of interest are each more than a 30-minute walk away. When you factor in the way they handle room assignments, I think you could save yourself a miserable night—as well as a few dollars—by staying somewhere else. It simply isn’t worth paying a premium for the location when the rest of the stay fails to live up to expectations.
