We flew from Buffalo to San Diego and unfortunately missed all our luggage, which the airline delivered the next day. I’m mentioning this because when we arrived at the hotel around midnight, we were warmly welcomed by a cheerful staff member who immediately understood our situation and ensured our 2-bedroom suite had everything we needed. That thoughtful gesture made a big difference after a long day!
The location was excellent — close to amenities, the seaside, zoo, and parks. Breakfast was decent, though it would have been nice to have more coffee options and a consistent selection of fruits.
On the negative side - no water bottles were given after your check in ( I wonder why - because we are paying for the room charges on daily basis) and top of this aspect - the other major downside was the parking fee of USD 60 per day. We stayed for three nights and ended up paying USD 180 just for parking — something the hotel should definitely reconsider.
Overall, a pleasant stay with great service and a convenient location, but parking costs were disappointing.

This was our third time staying at this hotel, and first time on the Homeward Suites side. We love the location as it's easy to reach from the airport and easy to walk to the waterfront and restaurants in Little Italy. The rooms are spacious, clean and well-kept (although I found our mattress to be too soft), and I was grateful that the AC in the fitness center had been fixed since my last visit last fall. The pool is also great and we love hanging out in the outdoor courtyard space at the end of the day, but noticed that the ping pong table and foosball table were a bit worn out. It was nice to have access to buffet breakfast before setting out for the day (a much better option than vouchers for the on-site restaurant that we had last year where we found the service to be slow and food much too heavy and overpriced). There was a good variety of items to choose from and the staff there was friendly and worked hard to keep everything stocked and clean. Be advised that the valet parking is a bit on the pricy side. I would definitely stay here again on our next visit to San Diego.

Was charged over 240.00 for canceling even though I tried to explain the reason for canceling was due to a urgent family issue. I understand the policy, but they wouldn't budge and said "its non negotiable."

DEFINITELY NOT VAULE FOR MONEY.
We came all the way from Australia and was so disappointed. the front desk staff were rude and obviously did not want to be there. We came in to book 2 rooms in which we were told due to the volume of guest our rooms would not be ready till 4pm. On returning back at 4:15pm we were advised by the front desk 1 room would not be ready for another 40mins. Now I understand checking in early isn’t guaranteed but almost an hour over check in time with 5 children after a 22 hours flight just isn’t good enough. What I thought couldn’t get any worse went down hill very quickly. We arrived in a room we did not book and again had to sort this issue out down stairs with the unhelpful staff. After 25 mins we got into the room we had originally booked. The bed dipped in as soon as you laid on them, the pillows were well beyond there used by date, the lounge chair was so uncomfortable and sqeeked every time you moved. The bar stool leather was all ripped and torn off the seats, light shades were so dusty and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned for a whole year or more. We requested extra pillows in which they brought up and told us to put the pillow cases on the pillows ourselves, my 11 year old son got locked in the bathroom as the lock was buckled due to someone else probably being locked in there too. The only good thing we got out of this place was our money back for the remaining nights. Avoid at all costs.
