We did our research and was pretty excited to stay at this hotel. We visit San Diego a lot and the location seems great and the reviews are generally great. We ordered a Bayview suite. The general ambiance around the hotel was great.
On the ride up to the hotel on the 4th floor by daughter (16) complained about how noisy the elevator is. She isn't really a complainer, but it was pretty surprisingly unmaintained and squeaky sounding.
We get to the room. The bay view was pretty weak, mostly a view of the pool. But for the price, acceptable. Not like the photos.
The size of the room... Laughable. When you pull out the sofa bed from the "living room", you cannot walk past it, because it extends into the "dining room". There is about a foot of space between the long sized bed and the wall. It's not surprising I can't post photos on this review. That way it makes me sound like I'm unreasonably complaining, I assume you I'm not.
I tell them at the front desk about my concerns and wanted to cancel. They said no. I said when my other child arrives (she's 10), she's going to be equally or moreso conceded about riding in that elevator, which is not optional. The front desk attendant (impolitely) let me know they recently renovated the whole hotel. So the elevator is fine. Obviously, they replaced the whole elevator system. It's brand new and just sound like it's falling apart.
Anyways, they tell me I can move down to the 1st floor, not a bay view, and will accommodate me with free parking. I say that's fine, even though it isn't. I get there and the toilet doesn't work (I can't even make this up). I complain again, showing her a video of the toilet not flushing. Asking if I can now cancel my room? She says no, we will just fix it. And they do.
Fast forward to my fiance arriving with my other child. She walks in and says this room is TINY and doesn't look like the photos at all. The "patio" with 2 chairs is as roomy as a closet (not walk-in). We decided refund or not, we couldn't stay there. We booked another room at another similarly priced and MUCH nicer hotel, also with kitchen, long bed, and about 3x the space. I turned my keys in and let them know due to multiple aspects we were dissatisfied with, we just couldn't stay there and checked out. Refund or not.
I generally never like to write negative reviews. But the experience was bad enough that hopefully another family reading this will think twice. It's plenty of room for a couple I guess. Anything more than that. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

The location was excellent, the landscape was very well kept. The breakfast and the room was the highlight of it all. Not to mention the customer service, from dropping off our suitcases early, to allowing us to stay later than anticipated.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. Clean, comfortable, quiet, spacious rooms. Located by Liberty station and close to San Diego in a very safe/nice part of the city. The amenities are also incredible: a beautiful, safe walking trail behind the hotel that connects to Liberty station and has security at night, a heated pool, hot tub, gym, free breakfast, and laundry rooms. They also offer free refreshments on Wednesday nights to include beer, wine, and food. There’s many reasons why I would stay here again, but one thing that stood out the most is how this hotel showed me the true meaning of hospitality and I would like to thank one person in particular for that. Nick Savoy helped me coordinate my stay on multiple occasions and truly went above and beyond to assist me with my long term stay. I cannot thank him enough for his assistance and support throughout the duration of my stay. Incredible hospitality from him and the rest of the staff as well. Housekeeping service was exceptional and the housekeeping staff was so kind!! My stay could not have been any better. This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in and I travel a lot!

Staff checked in via txt message during my stay, which added an extra touch of convenience. Free hot breakfast was available. Amazing location, near the water. With gym & laundrymat on site.
Walking distance to a park and local stores.
