- MRMaria RiceNov 12, 20252.0While I appreciated this hotel’s convenient location, close to Old Town and Balboa Park, the noise level was a major issue. Our room was right next to Interstate 5, and we could hear traffic all night long, which made it difficult to sleep and simply unpleasant. After the first night, I asked to move to the other side of the hotel, but was told that rooms with two queen beds are only located on the freeway side. I wish this had been made clear before booking. The hotel’s claim about addressing guest concerns didn’t hold up in our experience. I’m also surprised more reviews don’t mention how loud it is, because it was truly disruptive. If I could have, I would have canceled my second night's stay and gone somewhere else. On a positive note, the airport shuttle service was very convenient. However, based on other reviews, it seems some guests were able to use the shuttle to reach additional destinations. When we asked, we were told to use Uber instead, which was disappointing. Breakfast was standard for a Holiday Inn Express, nothing special, but adequate. It was nice that it was served from 6:00 to 10:00 a.m.

We stayed 3 nights for marine graduation and they were funny, sweet, and sooo helpful! Their shuttle service is very good! They work really hard getting people to and from the base and airport in a timely manner!! I didn’t meet the others but ART was absolutely amazing when we checked in! He even gave us and knew information about MCRD graduation!

Great location if attending graduation at the Marine base. We stayed here to attend our son’s graduation and they have a shuttle to the base and back. The hotel is walking distance to the base as well. It is close to the I5 and airport but isn’t as noisy as you’d expect. Breakfast is great and the ladies there maintain it well. Highly recommend.

I returned my rental and the shuttle picked me up from the rental return stop, no need to go back to the main airport. Signed up to get the shuttle tomorrow when my flight leaves, hotel is very clean and quiet. Very happy overall.
