This hotel is in a great spot especially if you don’t want to be driving around. It’s a short ride from the airport and is easy to walk to the piers, downtown, gaslamp, ferry’s, restaurants etc. This Google listing has a very inaccurate pool pic which disappointed but I guess didn’t surprise as Embassy’s aren’t known for their outdoor pools. Rooms are large, breakfast is yum, happy hood cocktail hour is always nice.

CHECK YOUR FINAL RECEIPT- THE ONE THEY EMAIL YOU THE NEXT DAY
We were charged for a restaurant fee after we had checked out and were actually back home. I get it, computers aren't perfect. The next guests checking in arrived early, went to the restaurant to wait and charged their bill to the room number. Even though we had received our *final* bill upon checking out, I was emailed another one the next day. I was already annoyed at the costs for everything, so I checked it. Called the hotel to clear it up, was sent over to leave a message for the restaurant manager who never called me back. Next day I call again, unwilling to not be helped, but still being kind. Ended up talking to 2 people, both of which were very helpful, figured out the problem and apologized. Then was told 5-10 days for a refund. Day nine, it finally came through.
The view from our room on the 10th floor was absolutely stunning and we even had a seagull visit both mornings. However, paying a total of $840 for a $250/night room for 2 nights was not commensurate to our stay. I definitely won't be staying here again. The rest of the family stayed in gorgeous large rooms at the Manchester Grand Hyatt for basically the same price (although it did not include breakfast) and they were able to self park for $35.

Husband and I decided to visit San Diego last minute and after researching the downtown area decided the location of ES fit us perfectly. Short walk from the 992 bus stop to and from the airport. We booked through Expedia and selected a King Corner Suite. We had a wonderful view of the Harbor and will miss waking up to that in the am. Room was very spacious and clean. We enjoyed the nightly reception, bartenders were so friendly. Breakfast ran like a well oiled machine and food selection was wonderful. We were able to use our resort fee at the on-site restaurant and gift shop. The pizza at
The restaurant was very good and the staff was excellent-thank you Chris! Gift shop attendant very helpful in helping us as well.
This ES was the best one we have stayed at in a very long time. The location is a perfect for Seaport Village, walking to the Gaslamp District, Midway, and we even walked to Little Italy. Will definitely stay here again!

We had a fabulous stay here at Embassy Suites. Our family with young kids loved the hotel layout with the glass elevators. Our suite was spacious enough and the sofa bed was actually comfortable. The breakfast had both buffet and made to order foods, which was much better than other hotels who have complimentary breakfast. It was right across the street from Seaport Village where we found a great seafood restaurant. The pool is indoors which is perfect for winter months. Just Fyi valet parking is $70 and resort fee is $25 (which is a hotel credit towards food and beverages), but still worth staying here.

Let’s be clear: this hotel is misleading and disappointing.
Yes, the location is good. Yes, the front desk staff is friendly, check-in is smooth, and the rooms are clean. That’s where the positives end.
The hotel falsely advertises parking. The website says “Valet parking optional,” which clearly suggests self-parking is available. That is NOT true. Valet parking is the only option. It costs $75 per night, plus $25 every single time you request your car. Leave for lunch, come back, go out again for dinner, repeat? Your parking easily hits $150–$200 PER DAY. This is not optional parking — it’s forced valet, and the hotel knows exactly what it’s doing.
Now the worst part: the cafeteria experience.
I booked this hotel specifically because it advertised a buffet breakfast, which is important when traveling with three kids. What we walked into felt nothing like a buffet. Guests are not allowed to serve themselves. Employees stand there serving food in measured scoops, controlling portions, and acting like security guards, not hospitality staff. More of a prison style! The atmosphere is tense, uncomfortable, and honestly humiliating — especially when you’re paying $420 per night.
My child asked for extra bacon twice and was refused both times. Watching your kid get denied food over a few extra pieces of bacon is unacceptable at any hotel, let alone one charging luxury prices.
What made this even worse was the obvious difference in treatment. Guests speaking Spanish to the cafeteria employees received better service and more generous portions, while others did not. Whether intentional or not, it came across as discriminatory and left a very bad taste.
This is not hospitality, this is a prison. This is cost-cutting and control disguised as service.
Bottom line:
Clean rooms and good location do NOT justify misleading parking practices and a cafeteria experience that feels restrictive, uncomfortable, and disrespectful. Families especially should think twice. I would not stay here again.
