Hotel is in a central location, however be mindful of walking at night alone in that area.
Hotel and common areas are mostly clean and modern - we noticed a few small stains in our room on linens and curtains; the pool and hot tubs could use deep cleaning or resurfacing, and the exterior windows are in desperate need of washing.
The gym that the hotel is partnered with is cumbersome to find and use - but it an expansive facility and people who value access to top-notch fitness facilities will appreciate this hotel. The valet parking is a little expensive, and you can find self parking directly next door for about half the daily cost.

Used to be a great hotel but sadly it’s not anymore. Rooms don’t feel especially clean. Found a bug on the floor in the bathroom that I have no idea where it came from. Room temp stay unpleasantly warm during the stay. Heard loud banging twice during my stay that was not promptly looked into and woke up to a trainer at the gym screaming his morning. Breakfast was fine but the service was awful. $7 for a cup of coffee is diabolical.
This rating got 2 stars for the staff. They were mostly wonderful. Just wished the stay was better for $280 for the night.

The drop off/parking:
Unless you valet at the hotel directly at $70/day, the drop off/parking situation is awkward and since the underground parking is directly related to the new building next door, there is limited information provided by the hotel as their primary service is valet.
Once inside, checking in was easy. Staff is incredibly friendly, lots of information provided about amenities. The hotel is very nice.
Front desk, bar, and room attendants are so very nice, helpful, and go above and beyond.
Well maintained common areas. Ice/water on each floor however it was not working on the 8th or 9th during our stay.
Pool is situated between two giant buildings so it doesn’t see a lot sun and the rooftop is only open after 4 (because there is a bar) so you cannot just sit up there outside during the day for work etc. So that was a bummer for me.
Parking is available in a garage next door that is connected to another hotel, which we used.
Note: There is minimal instruction, direction, and an app/email confirmations etc to use this garage. Reentry requires a code for a door next to the Carte. It was quite the process, but it wasn’t $70/day.

I am shocked that this is considered a 4 star hotel. The place definitely needs cleaning and revamping. The elevators smelled disgusting. The ice machine on the 6th floor is hanging on my black duct tape. The shower knob was crooked in our room. Crumbs on the floor. Stains on the bed. I was not comfortable at all. My husband and I checked out early and stayed both nights at our own home instead of at the hotel. Pictures are deceiving. Our city view was the parking lot with dirty windows. Valet is $70 a night. I would never recommend staying here.

I just want to say that Jordan at the front desk saved us! We booked our stay through the Chase Portal, and it was cancelled without us knowing, but Jordan was able to reinstate our reservation, and was able to get us late check out too.
The hotel overall is nice. The rooms and bathrooms are nice too. And the hotel itself was clean. The elevators have a new system that I had not seen before, which made it easy to get a ride without having to wait too long. And the location is really good for getting to the beach or to getting food.
