I was looking for a last minute accommodation and did not want to break the bank for a last minute lodging need. I found the Best Western Seven Seas is one of the more inexpensive options in the area. It is what I suppose you might call an old motor lodge, I suspect built during my Boomer childhood. It reminded me of stays during my childhood travels with my family. Quite nice in those times. Best Western Seven Seas is still quite nice. The associates were helpful and politely professional. It did not have many extras in the room and the room was just a bit larger than the bed. It had a dresser with a flat screen TV atop it, a small side table with two comfortable chairs, where one could work or dine, the chairs also adequate for watching TV. The bed was comfortable, the HVAC worked properly, the curtains on the picture window closed properly to block outside light and provide privacy. I don’t recall the room having a coffee maker but do recall a mini fridge. . The bathroom was clean, appliances functioned well, soaps and towels were provided and adequate. I found it a fine hotel for what I was charged. What was outstanding, were the landscaped grounds. The walk to the restaurant is over sidewalks lined with the beautiful foliage of the San Diego coast and was truly enjoyable. I am from the Midwest, use to a different kind of flora so was delighted to get to see the beautiful local plants and was excited to see blooming bird of paradise plants (they really do suggest the appearance of a bird!). There is an independent restaurant on the grounds, not a free continental breakfast. I thought it was reasonably priced and the wait staff and manager were friendly and efficient. My breakfast burrito was also very good. I was traveling alone, and the Best Western Seven Seas exceeded both my needs and expectations.

The staff that i met were all kind, considerate, knowledgeable, and helpfull. I needed FOUR (4) parking passes for my room. "No problem"!
I had booked a block of 10 rooms, discovered that i needed 8 more on the last day of availability. The person doing group rooms would not be back in the office till the following Monday. "No problem"! The whole experience was that way.
Plus, they are doing amazing upgrades to the property. I'm already excited about next year when i schedule our group back here again.

The photos are a bit deceptive and this definitely feels and looks like a motel, not a “3 star hotel”
Carpets smell like mildew and the beds don’t even have blankets, just sheets.
Advertised a room with a microwave and fridge, there was no microwave. Everything here just feels grimey. Would not recommend at all.
Bad experience.
We chose this particular hotel because it had an electric car charger. When we arrived, it was broken, and there was only one available, which was occupied by another car all night. They didn't offer any solution.
The room smelled damp, the sheets were wet, the carpet smelled bad…
The only good thing was the restaurant service.
I am a top tier diamond member, yet I encountered multiple issues staying at this hotel. At first it was fine it looks so cute on the outside but the neighbors next to me partied day and night. I fell asleep listening to rooms on each side of me going back and forth yelling and blasting music till 3 in the morning then again at 10 am. But that’s not my reason for this review. My real issue was I extended my reservation for an extra night & I was not informed that I’m not allowed to leave my service dog in the room alone. I called the lobby multiple times to complain about the neighbors & no comments about the dog, nobody came to my door, they called my phone one time but I missed the call yet no voicemail, they didn’t call the room phone, I had called today at 10 am to get the price for my extension I was given the amount & told them I’m heading to the bank & will be back shortly to pay … again no mention of any issue with the dog. This is like my 5th time at least calling and nobody said anything about the dog yet when I went to go pay I was told I have to leave the property because of an on going issue with my dog … as a loyal diamond member this was very very unprofessional, & they don’t even have a manager or a supervisor on property to speak to unfortunately. There is no signs in the lobby saying u can’t leave ur dog in the room, nobody told me when I checked in nobody told me at all but they kicked me out yet the people who partied all night and morning didn’t get told anything. It’s such a cute property but unfortunately the employee team is a mess and all over the place. Seems like it’s ran by a bunch of younger girls which is fine but to not have a responsible adult i can speak to about the situation is wrong. I came 8 hours from home to visit this town & having these types of issues is something i never want to waste my money & time on but unfortunately it happened here. Such a sad experience but i moved to the Ramada down the street & it is such much nicer from the customer service to the spacious renovated rooms. Id recommend going there instead of here just for a more peaceful experience
