  Great location, rooms are pretty nice but everything was broken. Multiple doors were broken (my building had one access point) and all the elevators were broken. When I asked for a 1st floor room the answer was no. Another building? Elevators also broken. I commented on how a hotel has multiple buildings with broken elevators?- the clerk answered “they work, just not right now!” 🤦‍♂️ can’t make this up.

  We came across this hotel by accident, walked in and was shown one of the marina view suites and it looked like a great choice. The property in general is beautiful and water front on bith sides of hotel so it was great. Coincidentally we mentioned we were looking for rooms for our upcoming wedding and was offered options for rehearsal dinner. Prices were feasible so we booked our rehearsal dinner for 26 people and went with 5 rooms. It was easy, property and room worked great for us. Beds comfy. Amazing view for our wedding photos with our wedding party. The rehearsal dinner....food was amazing!!!! The bbq ribs specifically and the apple turnovers! Amazing. Our attendant during the rehearsal dinner was attentive, polite and overall made it a great experience. Our rehearsal dinner was booked for 2/20/2026 (cannot remember the server's name) Maria Palestini was also amazing in helping finalize everything for the dinner as well. Nice job Best Western Plus. Thank you!!

  All the people that work there are Awesome... Great customer service. For several years now I have enjoyed wonderful meals in their restaurant... The Fish and Chips is really good, and for lunch I highly recommend the Turkey sandwich that's made with an Onion roll... You'll love the fries. The servers are fantastic... Overall a nice experience.

  If you like coffee in the morning, bring your own coffee maker. None in the room and you have to wait until 7am to get coffee in the lobby. Carpet in the room was crunchy/nasty. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Room was on the smaller side but well priced. The retaurant was great and so was the service. We are local to Point Loma so we will go back for the food but won't consider another stay. Location and Service get 5 stars each but room brings the overall total to 3 stars.

  Great place to stay for a relaxing anniversary! We got a king suite with balcony, kitchen and sitting room that had a marina view. It was a quiet, secure and comfortable place to stay. Had dinner at the Blue Wave restaurant upstairs in the lobby and the food was so good!!! I got a ribeye with potatoes and it was delicious. Hubby got Tortilla soup that he very much enjoyed. We split a berry/ pineapple upside down cake, sooo good! Afterwards you can walk along the bay off Shelter Island on the same walkway that goes all the way to downtown San Diego. This place is close to the airport so convenient if you are flying there. We found no downside to the place and would definitely go again.
