Pros: The front desk staff were all phenomenal and went far more above and beyond than they needed to. I was having a rotten time and they helped so much
I was able to lock my luggage in a safe place while going out with my son instead of lugging it around.
Breakfast was yummy and lots of options. (I wish there had been lids for the coffee cups) it satisfied my 2 year old.
The room was large
The curtains blocked out a sufficient amount of light to confuse my toddler as to what time it was so I could sleep in a bit.
Cons: I was told all I had to pay was a $150 deposit but I was charged significantly more and I still need to fix it.
The room wasn’t exactly clean. There was mold in the bathroom and hair in the shower and dusty walls.
The room was also in disrepair but also some things were patched over not so well. Like the toilet roll holder was wildly loose and the grout was missing from the floor tile.
There weren’t any amenities besides soap. It would have been nice to have lotion
If you plan on using public transport to get around it isn’t in the most convenient location. It’s definitely more car friendly.
On that note it was a bit confusing to navigate the parking and entrance area. It’s a weird building.
Biggest takeaway was the friendly and accommodating front desk staff.

Our room had a really horrible like rotten vegetable smell that would not go away. The floor near door and to first bed was also very wet. Maybe the previous people had something spill but it was very unpleasant

This hotel has no integrity. The parking fee posted on Hotels.com is $19 per night. I confirmed this fee both at check-in and again at check-out with the front desk manager(tall brown guy with glasses and curly hair) . However, I was surprised to find that I was charged $26 per night when I later received the bill online.
When I called the hotel, they blamed the incorrect information on the third-party website and refused to acknowledge that this rate had been agreed upon at both check-in and check-out at the hotel. I will never book a hotel under this company again in the future.

Overall, my experience was very positive, but there were some minor hiccups to consider.
When I booked, Expedia said that parking was $19 a night, but when I got there, I was informed that it was actually $26 a night. This may be due to the holiday weekend, but it doesn't hurt to verify parking rates before you get there. Also, there is a lot of safe off-street parking in the area, and in the three nights I stayed there, we didn't have a single issue.
If you can help, it, request a room angled away from the highway; we were facing away from the road, and we still heard some traffic noise, so I feel that it may be much worse if you're facing the highway.
The facility is older, but upkeep has been mostly effective, so you might not notice it if you don't know what to look for. The elevators might need a tune-up, as they repeatedly made odd noises throughout our stay. Other than that, the facility was clean, quiet, and very cozy.
My only major complaint is that accessing the facility is a little confusing; it took me multiple drives around hotel circle to figure out how, exactly, to access the parking area. It wouldn't hurt for hotel staff to give visitors a little guidance before they arrive!
The breakfast was particularly good, with special emphasis on the blueberry muffins, which are a step above. Most pre-packaged muffins you see at hotel breakfast these days.
Well worth the price, and the location puts you within 15 minutes of most of the major San Diego attractions. Definitely worth checking out, especially if you have kids!
