I'm 75, wife & I traveling
California coast,2 weeks.
Stayed 2 nights, BW is just 1 or 2 miles, from all tourist spots. Update rooms, great breakfast. 😋 French toast 🥖 sticks, real eggs. I have not bothered to reviewed last
14 hotel & motels. Staff were very friendly and helpful! I highly recommend.
Eggs. Also that have ,shower head wand !

Kindest staff, great location, clean environment! Came to SD for a quick Halloween celebration with some friends. It's walking distance to the Gaslamp District. Would stay here again if in the area.

I would call this a motel-style lodge as it is L shaped and only two stories with limited parking. We flew in and took public transportation to avoid the $20/day charge for parking. You may be able to find parking on the street, but I noticed that parking enforcement seemed very active in and around that area.
I would describe the hotel and lodging as humble and quaint. The delicious continental breakfast was a deciding factor on our stay as many of the other hotels did not offer a complimentary breakfast. We have stayed at several Best Western locations and this has been our favorite breakfast so far. There was a refrigerator in the room as well a Starbucks K-cup coffee maker, but no microwave. The front desk did offer us to use the breakfast room microwave if we needed, though. The refrigerator allowed us to save money on leftovers and food. This hotel also offers filtered water, next to the ice machine, which was great because we avoided buying bottled water.
The hotel grounds are amazingly landscaped and lit up at night. We enjoyed the rooftop "garden" or gathering spot.
The front desk was impeccable and met all of our requests/needs.
This is a great location, near freeways, and public transportation. It is near the Gaslamp and just about everything you would want to see - especially if you like walking and don't mind taking the bus or trolley. We went to Coronado Island, the SD Zoo, to/from airport on bus, and took the trolley to old town.
We were a bit surprised when we arrived as we thought it was a multi-story sky-rise based on one of the pictures, but it was just the building behind it.
We would like to thank Olivia, GM, for her attention towards us. From the moment we checked in to check out, she was always helpful and went above and beyond for us. The housekeepers were also very attentive.
