Rather I'm coming home to the East Bay to visit family and friends, or back home for a work-related trip, this is always an ideal hotel. Being I travel for a living (domestic and international), I have high expectations when it comes to lodging. Having said that, I respect the 'you get what you pay for' saying. In this instance I would use the expression 'great bang for-the-buck'. They always have reasonable rates when I stay here, especially when comparing to other local hotels specifically in Pleasanton. While the rooms are a bit dated, they are very spacious, and have the modern updates like bedding and large screen tv. I always get a great night sleep when staying here-- just be sure to get a room on the poolside. The front of the hotel faces the 580/680 interchange which can be a little noisy, even with the sound suppressing windows they outfitted the property with. Now for the perks! I believe it's for everyone, but they provide warm cookies at check-in. The super-friendly staff will also hook you up anytime of day with one. My last stay here I was getting up early to take calls by the pool. I may or may not have asked for said cookie at 8:15a, and they hooked it up! The rooms also come with two bottles of water, especially nice for travelers getting in late and needing the basics waiting in the room. Another bonus is free access to The Club! This place has everything; spa, sauna, tons of equipment and a great staff. In my opinion, this hotel is a little oasis in the East Bay. The pool area is fantastic. They have a large pool and hot tub, complete with a beautiful waterfall. There's also plenty of tables and lounging areas to just relax after a long day of play or meetings. The DoubleTree in Pleasanton will continue to be my go-to hotel whenever I'm back in the East Bay.
