TL;DR: This was the worst hotel experience of my life. My first room had a disabled door lock and no soap. My second room had zero Wi-Fi or cell service for 5 days, leaving me isolated. Management refused to take my calls, claiming "she just left" every single time I tried to reach her. The First Room: Unsafe and Unclean My first impression was terrible. The room looked like a relic from the 70s—extremely dark, dated, and smelling of stale air. Shockingly, the door would not lock. As a single woman traveling alone, having to call the front desk immediately just to secure my door is unacceptable. To make matters worse, once I finally felt safe enough to shower, I realized there were no toiletries—no shampoo, no body wash. I discovered this while already wet in the shower. The Second Room: An Island of Isolation After I complained, the manager moved me to a renovated room and offered points. While this room was physically nicer, it was functionally useless. There was zero cellular service and zero Wi-Fi in the room. I was effectively stranded. The Service Failure I was on a business trip, yet I couldn't take a single business call or answer emails from my room. When I reported this: • Staff connected me to an offsite internet vendor, wasting two hours of my time troubleshooting, only for it to fail. • "Beth" at the front desk repeatedly claimed it was a "global IHG outage," which seemed like a scripted excuse. • I had to rely entirely on my personal hotspot just to function, which was difficult given the poor signal. The "Invisible" Manager The most frustrating part was the management's refusal to speak with me. Over the course of 5 days, I asked to speak to the manager 6+ times. She never called me back, answered my voice messages, or reached out to me. • When I called at 5:00 PM: "She just left the office." • When I called at 12:00 PM the next day: "She just left the office." I was lied to, ignored, and isolated for five days. Do not stay here if you need to work, and definitely do not stay here if you value your safety and connectivity.

Beautiful, festive, clean, friendly hotel located central to important Stanford and San Jose businesses with a local neighborhood feel. Walking distance to grocery and restaurants. Very safe neighborhood area, easy access to Hwy 101. 15 minute drive to SJC. Highly recommend

Booked and prepaid for my stay through Trivago. Then was charged again for my stay upon checkout. Slimy business.

Great location in the heart of Palo Alto, it's close to many good restaurants and it's about 40 minutes from SFO airport. The hotel offers very good conferencing facilities with large main conference rooms plus other smaller breakout rooms. Rooms are basic but were clean. Housekeeping was punctual and through. Service was good overall including room service in room dining. The food was delivered on time and was tasty.
