My husband and I planned a trip up to Pacific Grove and we decided to stay at the new Kimpton Mirador Hotel. As an Interior Designer by trade I loved the clean Spanish Revival Architecture. The rooms were nicely planned out and we had all the amenities that go along with an upscale boutique property.
The staff were all cordial and professional from the valet at the front door, the reception check in agents, house cleaning, and waiter and kitchen staff. The meals where great with some unique twists to classics.
I must say for a New Hotel they have their act together and the HR culture of excellence is obvious.
We will plan another visit too as the Ocean views of the Pacific Coastal are amazing!
Thank you,
Elaine

I took ride with my wife up to Pacific Grove for short holiday and stayed at the brand new Kimpton Mirador. The hotel done in a Spanish Revival style is both charming and elegant. Just 3 short blocks to the Ocean where the Pacific vistas are breathtaking.
We had breakfasts and dinners at their Caledonian Restaurant and I must say for a hotel that just opened, there were no hiccups as the staff were warm and friendly, the service was flawless and our meals were excellent!
Congratulations 👍 We can't wait to return!

Well located in Pacific Grove, a small coastal town with a unique blend of relaxed charm, natural beauty, and a strong community vibe.
There’s a warm & friendly vibe from the hotel staff, who are lovely people.
The hotel itself is beautifully designed with lots of natural light. The rooms are clean, charming, and thoughtfully laid out with a light, bright ambiance. It’s inviting and everything feels intentional and comfortable, making it easy to settle in and relax.
The food at The Caledonian restaurant is delicious (American and seafood cuisine) and the atmosphere is comfortable. The Avocado toast for breakfast and the cavatelli for dinner are both a must!
If you’re looking for a stay that feels peaceful with genuine hospitality, you found it!
Side note: While all Kimptons are dog friendly (they stay free) and we love Kimptons and always bring our dog, the town of Pacific Grove is NOT very dog friendly. The town is unwelcoming to folks with a dog unlike all other places in California, but I’m not sure why.

This Kimpton is truly exceptional, with thoughtful attention to every detail. The rooms are beautifully designed, both elegant and highly functional, creating a space that feels as comfortable as it is refined. The entire team is warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful, ensuring that from the moment you arrive until checkout, your stay is seamless and deeply relaxing.
Be sure to take advantage of the daily social hour, featuring complimentary wine and small bites, a perfect touch that makes the experience even more special. And don’t miss Caledonian, the on site restaurant, which is absolutely outstanding.
You won’t be disappointed. Book your stay and prepare for a truly wonderful getaway. There are so many amazing local shops within walking distance from the hotel that are not to be missed.

The Kimpton Mirador in Pacific Grove offers a top-shelf experience and fantastic value for anyone who appreciates high-end service and a luxury feel. We had an exceptional stay and highly recommend it!
The Arrival & Staff - The location is incredibly convenient and easy to find on a high-visibility corner with a clear entrance. We loved the peace of mind of having the valet keep our car in a secured ground-floor area. From the moment we arrived, the staff was exceptional; welcoming, friendly, and genuinely helpful. The front desk team never seemed rushed and gave us great local recommendations and directions.
The Space & Rooms - The lobby is cozy with large windows, which makes it easy to spot your ride-share arriving! Our room was a perfect size with a minimalist, quality feel and luxurious bedding. You’ll sleep well here.
The Atmosphere - The courtyard is the heart of the hotel. It’s a narrower space that invites you to explore, featuring plenty of private seating areas and gas fire pits that are perfect for relaxing and people-watching. There’s always a nice buzz of activity without it feeling overwhelming.
Location, Location, Location - You’re right across from a beautiful library, a city park, and a really cool natural history museum. It’s an easy, scenic walk down to the coast, Lovers Point, and the paved coastal trail. Plus, downtown Pacific Grove is just a block away with a variety of shopping and dining.
Dining In - Pacific Grove tends to close up early, so the hotel restaurant is the perfect place to extend the night. It’s a fun mix of locals and guests with great lighting and a high-energy (but not loud) vibe. While it’s not "cheap eats," the food is absolutely worth the price. Even our go-to comfort foods, the roast chicken and pork chops, were elevated to a level we’ll be "attempting" to duplicate at home for a long time!
Final Thoughts - We loved our stay here and can’t wait to come back. The Kimpton Mirador manages to feel both fancy and incredibly welcoming at the same time. If you’re looking for a spot that treats you well and puts you right in the heart of PG's charm, you honestly can't beat it.
