  We stayed here recently during our son’s college visit to University of Toronto. The location is convenient to central Toronto, the rooms are clean, spacious and well maintained. The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful and competent. The only hiccup during our stay was that housekeeping somehow missed our room the first day we were there. After I texted the management team, they sent someone right up to give us new towels and to tidy up our room. Mistakes happen, and I was impressed at how quickly they resolved the issue. We plan to stay at the Intercontinental whenever we come to Toronto in the future.

  We really enjoyed our time at this hotel! We weren't expecting to stay, but had to find last-minute accommodation for a few nights due to disruptions with our flight. David at the front desk was exceptionally helpful.The hotel was nearly 100% full due to events going on in the city, but David went out of his way and managed to find us a room, and helped us check in early so we could settle in. It was so nice having one less thing to stress about! He was lovely to chat to and even gave us reccomendations for things to do in Toronto based on our interests. The hotel pool and spa were also lovely and the adults only hour from 9pm-10pm was much appreciated!

  Paid $1212 for two nights & Room 1642 was absolutely disgusting, peeling wallpaper, stains on carpet, semen on wall below window, dusty table. Bug on top of window sill. Think the room was haunted. The keyhole for the door has been punched out and reinstalled upsidedown. Something bad happened in there. Was supposed to have a Lakeview, arrived 10 min early and the gentleman at the desk asked if we wanted him to get us in and offered another room, when asked if it was of the same quality with same features he smiled awkwardly and answered "Of Course Sir" Booked the room under Janelle Balkwill PART 2, So we were contacted a by guest relations manager after leaving this review and told that the hotel will address the issues we had with our room. Apparently this 5 star hotel thinks returning a 2 night amenity fee ($56) and offering a future room upgrade, should we ever decide to return; Would be a satisfactory. Honestly I've seen 2 star motel rooms in better condition. This arbitrary, pathetic attempt of a resolution was nothing more than a joke. Almost insulting to be honest. Thanks IHG for a good laugh. Although the lobby and recreational facilities are top notch, After this experience, If your looking to pay the Price I did, then I'd recommend the Ritz-Carlton around the corner.

  Loyalty status: yes, booked through IHG.com Amex accepted: yes Description: The Intercontinental Toronto is situated in a high rise building in the middle of down town. It is centrally located with easy access to a variety of public transport options. It's easy to access the Path network by exiting the hotel through the parking garage exit. It is also located a short distance from the CN tower and the sports stadium. The outside of the building is unremarkable but the inside looks very chique. It seems there is a floor by floor refurbishment going on. There are enough check in counters in the lobby and one specifically for high level loyalty status holders. For people who stay in a club room there is the option to check in at the lounge. Checking in there is possible till 22:30. We stayed here for two seperate stays during the same vacation. The first stay we were in a suite with a Downtown view. Basically two seperate rooms with one room having a bed and divan while the other room has a sitting area with a dining table. There were two bathrooms. The view was amazing and the bed was very comfortable. The only drawback of this room was the sound that the passing trains made. At checkout we made a remark about this and the staff noted this for our second stay a week later. During our second stay we had a suite with a seating area, office space, dining area and bedroom. There was one bathroom. There was no window view but the office area had a skylight that offered a view on the CN tower. There was no sound from the trains outside. The bed was also very comfortable. Both rooms were very well cleaned. The first room was a bit more dated in comparison to the second room. But it seems the hotel is doing a floor by floor renewal of its rooms. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant area has a big selection of Western and Eastern options. At peak hours it can get very busy so keep this in mind when selecting the time you want to come in. The omelet station is good with nice ingredients to choose from. The lounge area is very good too offering a quite area to rest from a busy day exploring the city. The staff at the lounge gave us great advice and really stand ready to help when needed. The swimming pool, fitness area and wellness area are very good and well maintained too. This hotel has a four star rating which probably is because of part of the rooms being dated. It is not a reflection of the service offered by the staff of the hotel. I would not be surprised if the hotel reaches five star status when the refurbishment is done. On a next visit to Toronto we would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again.

  Absolutely loved this hotel. Read on...! Stayed there with my daughter in a wonderful large room (a high level king) with a view of the CN Tower and Lake Ontario. It was clean, really comfortable and had a lovely bathroom too with top quality toiletries. There was a proper kettle in the room. We English need a proper kettle! (We did buy our own milk in the little shop there and stored it in the ice bucket!). We had both drinks and food in the bar throughout our stay. All was good quality with friendly and attentive staff. The location was also great for what we wanted. CN Tower a stone's throw. Easily walkable (for us) to the Eaton Centre, Kensington Market, St Lawrence Market and the Distillery District. Also the ferry terminal for Toronto Islands. Union Station on the doorstep too was easy to use. All staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful, but a special mention to David Paes on the front desk. He checked us in the first day and was so friendly and welcoming. We had a nightmare at the end of our stay with our flight home being cancelled. Both myself and my daughter were very upset as we had already checked out and needed to then stay another night. David was an absolute hero. He was very sympathetic and booked us into an almost identical room. He was kind to us on the rate and even allowed us a late check out to make our extra time there as stress free as possible. He told us he had been at the hotel for 30 years. His experience, calmness, professionalism and kindness went a long way in easing our trauma. I hope the hotel recognise what a gem they have in him!
