  Very Disappointing Stay – Not What the Pictures Promise We stayed at the Holiday Inn Peterborough-Waterfront by IHG with our family, and unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. Do not be fooled by the beautiful pictures online. Although the hotel has great potential due to its location beside the river and its lovely outdoor area, the property is poorly maintained and falls far short of expectations. The rooms are very old and in poor condition. The hallways have an unpleasant smell, apparently due to the poorly maintained carpets. We actually had to request a room change because of the condition of our original room and the bad smell inside. Although the front desk staff were friendly and provided good customer service, even simple decisions seemed to take a long time because everything had to be referred to the manager. One of our biggest concerns was the overall feeling of safety around the hotel. We were uncomfortable with the situation in the surrounding area, where we noticed a significant number of homeless people. We also observed individuals looking inside parked vehicles around the hotel, which made us concerned about the security of our car and belongings. This was particularly unsettling when travelling with our family. Additionally, we contacted the hotel in advance to ask about early check-in and its pet policies, but it took a long time to receive a response. It is such a shame because Peterborough is a beautiful city, and this hotel has an excellent location with so much potential. Unfortunately, the property appears neglected, and the overall experience did not meet our expectations. I would not recommend this hotel for a family stay. If you are planning to visit Peterborough, I would strongly suggest looking at other accommodation options. The beautiful pictures and waterfront location are appealing, but the reality of the rooms, maintenance, and overall experience was very disappointing.

  Mehhhh- rooms were clean which was positive. Hallway carpets were dirty. Restaurant had one server for both bar and dining - getting a drink he told us would take a while because it was just him behind the bar and restaurant . We left and went off property to The Keg for dinner and a drink. Would not go back there. Looked like better options in the area. I was disappointed it being part of the Hilton chain/

  Nice location on the water not far the downtown.. Decent restaurant.. Room was nice with a big flat screen TV...the only downside ( small one) ..there wasn't a real time channel guide . We would stay there again.

  Really nice view and the of the water when having breakfast. The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. The menu is good I had the burger and the chicken parm both were good.

  We would highly recommend this hotel! The Holiday Inn Peterborough is located in downtown on the Otonabee River. It is a central meeting place for our family coming from Toronto, Oshawa, and the Kawartha Lakes region. We were able to reserve two river side adjoining rooms on the 2nd floor. This made it easy for my Mother (with walker) and Aunt (sore back) to navigate to the dinning room. Rooms were clean and newly updated. We were able to unpack, relax, look out at the river, and celebrate my Mother's 90th Birthday! I had booked the 1-bedroom suite, but Thomas the front desk representative, was able to anticipate that a different room combination at the same price would be a better fit for our stay - and he was right! Emanuel another front desk representative offered concierge like recommendations. The hotel's breakfast buffet was fantastic! I had their signature eggs with spinach/cheese (delicious!!) with bacon, fruit and croissant. Again, the restaurant employees were kind and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. This was so important as we were able to celebrate my Mom's 90-th Birthday in style! Thank you, Holiday Inn Peterborough!
