  The hotel location is alright. Short 15min walk to most tourist attractions. The room is clean. And there is daily housekeeping. Ample of hot water for shower and free toiletries at the counter. Fast internet. There is also on site laundry. No free breakfast though.

  I stayed at Holiday Inn Ottawa Downtow this last week - business trip, and I had a really comfortable experience. The room was nice and clean, with all the essential amenities provided. It had pretty much everything you would need for a pleasant stay. All the hotel staff is really professional and friendly, I can even say that they make the experience of staying great. The reception team was excellent. Herlan and Hailey were especially welcoming and helpful, I lost my phone in one taxi cab and they were incredible helping me to recover it. Overall, a great stay — comfortable, convenient, and well-serviced. Would definitely recommend!

  We stayed here for two nights. If you are a tourist in Ottawa, you can easily work to all great areas like museum and Parliament. And you can also walk to areas like by Ward market , Kiweki point etc . Rooms were OK. They also had a gym. They also had a restaurant called porch, which was OK. The only disadvantage I felt it was they did not provide free parking and charged us extra when someone pays so much for a hotel stay hotel shall provide parking for free.

  The AC would not start at all in the first room given to us. This is in the middle of summer in early August and they didn’t check if AC was working in a room that kept getting warmer every minute. When it was determined the AC would not work, we were given a second room. This room was smaller than the first and we had trouble finding space to lay down the luggages. It’s also missing some towel and had a big fly flying around that took us some effort to get rid of. This room was facing the alley between the hotel and a condo. Every morning we were woken up by garbage truck or various vehicles servicing the condo, as early as 5 am. The room’s window wouldn’t close properly so the noise just came straight in. On the morning to checkout, the hotel deactivated our room cards 7 minutes before checkout time of 11 am. So when I was heading back to pick up last of our luggage, I couldn’t use the elevator. (we were running late because the hotel restaurant was overwhelmed so the breakfast took longer than expected) The highlight was restaurant staff who were giving good service even when overwhelmed with number of guests.

  Beware of hidden fees! This hotel charges an extra $9.99 fee simply for booking through a third-party site instead of directly with them. Punishing guests with a financial penalty for choosing their property over a competitor is ridiculous nonsense. I won't be returning and wouldn’t recommend staying here.
