  Compliments to the staff at the Holiday Inn Express! They took every opportunity to offer a friendly welcome and caring attention to detail, despite being a busy stop as a northern gateway. I especially appreciated that we received good recommendations for local independent restaurants and events so we could make the most of our short time in North Bay.

  Right off the highway between Toronto, Ottawa and Sault Ste Marie. Turn off also has a gas station and a Tim Hortons. Hotels pet friendly for $50 extra and the rooms seem nice and clean. Relatively new building. Great place to crash for the night in the way by. Not sure what else is around North Bay if you are staying longer, I am sure there is lots to do. Highway scenery isn’t the best but works in a pinch for a good nights sleep. Staff at reception is friendly.

  This Holiday Inn was solid. They have a great breakfast. Quiet rooms. Nice staff.

  This hotel was our home base every time we needed one in North Bay — including our final stay as we packed up and left town for good. The star of the show is Seemore, their delightfully-named robot (get it — Seymour Street?). You can order treats from the front desk and Seemore delivers them straight to your room, much to the kids' delight. One receptionist went above and beyond and hand-wrote a fun little note for our kids — the kind of small touch that sticks with you. We stayed three nights and the pool was fantastic. The manager was great, and the little IHG/Holiday Inn Express touches never disappoint — shampoo and soap dispensers built right into the shower wall, a pad of paper for the kids to draw on, even a bathroom off the lobby. The more we travel, the more these details are why I book IHG brands first. Only ding: a local power outage had the whole town's hotels slammed, so the place was packed, and the pancakes ran out both mornings I tried. Can't really blame them for that one — just bad timing. Five stars, and a little funny. We'll miss this place.
