  DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!!! Upon entry you could smell the mold and mildew stench. The doors and windows were all dirty and poorly maintained. The front desk admitted to recently having a bed bug infestation, as recently as 2 weeks ago, which is also reflected in the recent reviews for this establishment. Best Western should be embarrassed to be affiliated with this hotel. Side complaint - do not book through Expedia. They are not supportive or helpful. My family had to source a new place to stay after arriving late in the day after traveling for hours. Now we are on the hook for 2 hotel rooms for 1 night on Cape Breton.

  Where do I begin? The hallways smell like mold and must. There was black mold in my bathroom. The toilet didn’t work. After every flush it took an hour to fill if it even did. The bathroom fan didn’t work. The phone didn’t work. We found that out when we tried to call upstairs cause the toilet didn’t work. There is never anyone on staff that can make a decision. Always told we can’t help and have to email for assistance. When we arrived there was 1 solitary towel in the bathroom. When we went and asked for towels we were told they didn’t have any. When I asked to be moved rooms due to the mold we told the hotel was full. They finally decided to try and change us rooms across the hall at 11pm on Saturday (which didn’t fix the mold and must in the hallway, and we checked out at 9am on Sunday). I’ve stayed at some pretty questionable hotels and this one is the worst. Out harbourview room? Was a view of the hallway of heat pumps. I left extremely sick. No one should ever stay here.

  This was my worst experience at a Best Western affiliate. Best Western shouldn't share their name with this place it hurts it's franchise. The electrical wall plug is loose, all the appliances are plugged into a non CSA 6 to 2 adapter. This is a fire hazard waiting to happen. The fire department needs to check the complete hotel. Renovations were poorly done on what seems to be the sprinkler system because our ceiling and floor had worked done....it looks like crap. Had a problem with the tv sound because they are using a black box and the Lady at front desk didn't know how the equipment works....luckily we had wi-fi too correct the problem. Beds are extremely soft, not for edge sleepers.

  Extremely disappointing experience. The cleanliness of this hotel was very poor, and the way the staff handled our concerns was even worse. When my friend raised a concern about the condition and cleanliness of the room, the front desk staff responded in a very rude and unprofessional manner instead of trying to address the issue. The situation eventually escalated to the point where we were told to leave the hotel. What was even more unacceptable was that, while we were being made to leave, one of the staff members verbally insulted us and used profanity toward me. Regardless of the disagreement, I do not believe this is an appropriate or professional way for hotel staff to treat guests. Based on both the hygiene conditions and the way we were treated, I would not recommend this hotel.

  Terrible experience and extremely unprofessional customer service. We found bugs in our room and immediately contacted the hotel staff, expecting them to at least take the issue seriously and offer us another room. Instead, they refused to change our room and told us that “bugs are normal because they are everywhere,” even saying that they have bugs in their own home. This response was honestly unbelievable. Whether bugs exist outside or in someone’s home has absolutely nothing to do with whether paying guests should accept bugs in a hotel room. We paid for a clean and comfortable place to stay, not to be told that we should simply accept the problem because “bugs are everywhere.” What disappointed us even more was the attitude of the staff. There was no real attempt to solve the issue, no room change, and no concern for our comfort. Very disappointing experience. Based on both the cleanliness issue and the way our complaint was handled, I would not recommend this hotel.
