  I am going to be really nit-picky because we paid over $400 for 1 night for a king size room at this hotel during the Atlantic Air Show. This is no excuse to raise the rates for a hotel that is a 3 dressed up as a 9. Why I gave it a 1: -small room bathroom fan is really loud -you can't change settings on air conditioner, had to unplug it. -small windows don't open. They're screwed shut -ceiling poorly patched -bathtub is old and jets are rusted -sink drain is slow -furniture is stained -walls are scuffed, headframe could have been cleaned better -hallway carpets look disgusting -elevator is old -in a sketchy neighborhood -exterior of building is uninviting & old, aside from the entrance. A paint job would do wonders! -not walkable to anything of interest or safety -alarm clock needs replacing or repair -breakfast was NOT included ( remember the price we paid for this room!) -USB plug doesn't work on the left side of bed. -no plug-ins close to the bed -coffee machine sounds like it's on it's last leg, takes long for a keurig -tea bags look old, and few -no decaf Remember, we paid $400+ Good things -nice staff, but, did not go above and beyond for the rates of the hotel, though. No concierge services -Bedding was clean -Bed was comfortable enough. -Nice view of the Industrial Harbour We have stayed in nicer motels for the rates this hotel should have been, which would have been no more than $150/night. Very disappointed. It shouldn't matter what's happening in town, or availability around town. Saint John is a filthy town that is decrepit and depressed. Remember, photos always look better, than in person. Room looks bigger in photos than it is.

  The hotel is really nice, the staffs are very welcoming and professional. I was checking-in late and the front desk staff were so helpful. The room maintenance staff even left a thoughtful welcome note on my bed. My room and a nice view of the Saint- Johns harbour, the room was well ventilated, it had good lighting and the bathroom was clean, spacious and stocked with enough hygiene necessities. I slept really well as my room was calm and the temperature was adjustable. Nice break-fast buffet, the food were kept warm. The dinning area was quite spacious and clean. The pool looked clean and warm but was too tired to take a swim. It is open from 7am to 11pm. Note, no lifeguard so swim with caution. The location is not noisy and it is right opposite the Saint John at the top of Fort Howe hill. And it close to the city’s harbour.

  Best Place to stay in St John, NB Area. Top notch location and service at a great price. The room was well appointed with comfortable beds and furniture. The in Room dining service is fast and efficient with great food options for all. Be sure to select a Harbour View room to complete the experience!

  This is at best a 3 star hotel. Rooms are dated and although recently renovated they went for surface level upgrades only. Bathtub etc is original and not in good condition. The hotel itself is somewhat run down and the location is poor. It is difficult to walk anywhere from the location and nothing is close to the hotel The staff in the restaurant try their best and are good but unsurprisingly issues arise when eating there. For example when we ordered a beer they informed us that they didn’t have anymore. That was for both of us on two different types of beer I would look at other hotels in the city I paid $350 a night to stay here which is not a good value given the class of hotel here

  I was confused as to why I received a follow up to rate my stay last night at the Crowne Plaza. As I explained to the desk operator when I called earlier in the day(Sunday) that my flight got cancelled and I was unable to meet my reservation. The answer I got was because I booked through CAA they could not help me. Only CAA could call to cancel the reservation. CAA is not open on Sundays so there was no way of having them cancel it. This was likely not going to be doable anyway because as it turns out there was a cancellation fee the same price of the room. So I paid for a room that I could not get to. So the stay was neither good or bad.
