We stayed at the Best Western Moncton last night and overall had a really good experience, especially as a stopover during a long drive.
The location was super convenient with easy access right off the highway, which made getting in and out very easy. We were also happy to find a suite available, and having the separate room with a door was a big bonus for our family.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, but I especially want to mention the lovely woman working in the breakfast area. She genuinely looked like she enjoyed her job and made an effort to make sure the guests were enjoying their morning too. That kind of attitude really makes a difference!
Our room was clean, and one thing I particularly appreciated was that the floor was actually clean enough that our feet didn’t feel sticky—which, unfortunately, isn’t always the case at hotels. The bed in our room was very comfortable, the water pressure was great, and having a Keurig in the room was a nice touch. It took closer to 3–4 minutes to heat up rather than the 2 minutes stated on the sign, but it worked perfectly once it was ready.
The continental breakfast was another highlight. The food was good, the coffee was hot, and there was plenty of French toast—which was exactly what we needed to fill up before a long drive home!
There were a few things that could use some improvement. The pull-out couch was quite hard and lumpy, with the metal underneath making it uncomfortable for our son. He was still happy to have his own space and a door between us, though! The toilet paper was also very thin and scratchy.
One other little hiccup was the air conditioning. The AC was controlled by the unit itself rather than the wall control we initially expected, so it took us a few minutes to figure it out in the dark around midnight. Once we figured it out, though, it worked well.
Overall, we had a comfortable, clean stay with friendly staff, a great breakfast, convenient highway access, and a very comfortable bed. For a road-trip stop, it checked a lot of the important boxes for us.
We’d definitely consider staying here again. 😊

Friendly Staff, But Serious Room Maintenance and Cleanliness Issues
The hotel staff members were highly accommodating and very friendly throughout my stay.
The shower floor had a visible crack with amateur repair work that resembled wet toilet paper.
The flooring underneath the shower felt soft, spongey, and swollen, indicating a potential underlying leak.
I found two empty beer cans left behind by previous guests, which is unacceptable for room cleanliness standards.
The TV remote is intentionally locked down to prevent you from changing the input. This made it incredibly difficult and frustrating to stream a movie from my personal device.
The room's alarm clock display did not show the time properly.
The MAT (Municipal Accommodation Tax) fee was unexpected and not clearly communicated beforehand, making the check-out experience feel unwelcoming.
Broken Gym Equipment: The treadmill in the fitness centre was completely out of order during my visit.
While the staff hospitality was wonderful, the poor room maintenance, restricted technology, lack of thorough cleaning, and hidden fees ruined the value of the stay. Management needs to address these property maintenance issues immediately.
This stay fell well below the standard I have experienced at other Best Western properties.
The poor experience began at check-in and continued through check-out. During both interactions, I felt as though I was inconveniencing or bothering the person working at the front desk. There was little indication that our business or loyalty was valued.
The condition and cleanliness of the room were unacceptable. The pull-out bed mattress was stained and had holes in the underside, almost no cushioning, and potato chips left on it from what appeared to be a previous guest. It was so uncomfortable that I had to place the couch cushions on top of the mattress to make it possible to sleep.
The pillowcases on the queen bed also had black patches that appeared to be embedded mould. In addition, the doors were sticky, batteries were missing from the remotes, and the room did not appear to have received an adequate housekeeping or maintenance inspection before we arrived.
I used Best Western Rewards points and a gift card for this booking. In my family’s opinion, both were wasted on a stay that failed to meet reasonable expectations for cleanliness, comfort, maintenance, and customer service.
Based on our experience, I could not recommend this property without significant improvements to its housekeeping oversight, room inspections, maintenance practices, and front-desk service.

Don't set your expectations beyond the bare minimum. If you want outdated and dirty but a great location this is the pla e to be
[ ] Can see thru blind on door from the outside
[ ] Very dirty
[ ] Dirty grout
[ ] Over all grimy feel
[ ] Old and beaten up furniture
[ ] Rusty toilet paper holder
[ ] Pool is cold, shallow and small. Disappointing, the room itself is very dark and uninviting.
[ ] Jacuzzi was dirty, cracked tile around it, dirty grout
[ ] Walls have drips of different substances, lack of cleaning
[ ] The parking spot outside room 120 should be reserved for that suite
[ ] Breakfast was satisfying
[ ] Bed was "just okay "
[ ] Fridge not very cold
[ ] Overall did not live up to expectations based on price
[ ] The only big selling point is the location
[ ] Broken light switches
[ ] Bed side lamp only worked by screwing and unscrewing the bulb
[ ] Carpet in the main hallways were visually unappealing and dirty
[ ] Stained towels
