Lies and more lies! Anyone reading - pls beware of The Receptionist Lady there. Could be dangerous, I think. Definitely treacherous. CC: Management! Please pay attention! /// Hollowing noise in the room, the high pitch dies away and comes back at intervals, which I identified later as a loud noise from the worked-down washing machine in the technical room. The Receptionist Lady, when asked, suggested that I turn up the TV and she'd see about the noise in an hour or so. Rude, but nothing compared to what happened next. My wife turned the shower on, and at the same moment, a hose connecting the TOILET got disconnected, and started to spray the room, forming a huge paddle on the floor. Luckily, there was a key on the water pipe coming out of the wall. I shut the water off, and my wife and the kid started to mop the water from the floor into the sink. I went to report the accident to The Receptionist Lady, who got agitated, did not wait until I finished my sentence and rushed to the room. My wife opened the door, and when I came in The Receptionist Lady was already raising her voice in our general direction (my wife and son and me), repeating without stopping: "you ruined the room", "how did you break it?", and something unintelligible about $700. The Receptionist Lady then stormed out of the room, saying I needed to follow her and get some rugs to mop the floor. To my repeated request to change the room, she started to repeat loudly: "You've ruined one room already!" I followed her to the reception desk, where she did throw some rags on the counter, and SLAMMED THE DOOR OF HER OFFICE IN FRONT OF ME! Leaving me speechless. After that, I googled  another hotel, we packed and left.

I had a very unpleasant stay at Best Western Tradewinds and would not return. I booked a room with a king bed from Dec 25 - Dec 28. I arrived around 10:30 PM on Christmas to find the front office closed. When I rang the night bell, the owner, Lori, came out visibly annoyed and repeatedly told me to “hurry up” and “chop chop” while I was getting my ID and credit card. It was an extremely unwelcoming check-in. We had two dogs, one of which is my girlfriend’s service dog. Lori was openly skeptical, warned me that there would be a $500 charge if the service dog was ever left alone, and handled the situation in an accusatory and uncomfortable way. The next morning, when I asked for fresh sheets and towels, Lori repeatedly questioned why I needed them instead of simply accommodating a reasonable request. Later in the stay, my girlfriend and I were walking our 2 dogs and Lori asked if we had checked in our third dog, despite having personally checked us in and clearly seeing we only had two dogs. It felt like she was trying to catch us in something or charge us extra. Overall, the stay felt hostile and distrustful. This is not the level of hospitality I expect from a Best Western.

I had stayed at this location several times on business. They had made me feel welcome and had treated me with respect and were welcoming and very accommodating at first. The Corporation that I work for travels me throughout the Pacific NW several times a year. My guesstimate is that I had stayed at this particular hotel property 5 seperate times, a week long visit each time. My job site for these specific trips were in Atascadero. There was several other hotels that I could have stayed at. But I had chosen to stay at the BW Tradewinds because I enjoyed the hotel and particularly the level of service. The hotel owner had even asked that I cancel my previous reservations at a different BW property (much closer to Atascadero) and to stay at this location instead Morro Bay instead. Which I had done. But suddenly I receive suspicious charges on my company credit card from my stay in last September. The Company I work for is demanding explanations and copies of the charges, needing closure before end of year. I send emails requesting copies and explaining the suspicious charges to the card. After several emails being ignored by the hotel I call and speak to someone trying to explain the urgency of the issue and was immediately cut off and told to email my request to them. I finally received an email response stating that they had indeed discovered these suspicious charges and had credited the card, in addition they say that the young lady who made those suspicious charges was fired and had no longer worked there. The girl in question is Michelle? I could of sworn she was the same person who last took my call. But I guess I could be wrong. However, my immediate request was for a copy of the corrected itemized bill in addition to documents indicating the Credit. I'm required to submit these to my company to show valid charges to the company card. Instead I am AGAIN repeatedly ignored and my urgent requests are of no consequence to the Managent, nor the hotel Owner. I've advised my company to put this business on the do not stay list. There is a lack of professionalism and very poor customer service here. I am being held responsible for these charges and I've stressed the urgency and importance of receiving a copy of these charges. But I am only to assume that since I have no immediate plans or intention of staying at this hotel, then I now do not matter to them. Providing great service is not strictly reserved to prior nor at time of stay. Your level of service should extend past this point. And all your guests should matter, past or present. You should be ashamed of this behavior. And my recommendations to any guests intending to stay at this property at Best Western Tradewinds for business purposes sincerely reconsider this and stay at a different property, one that ALWAYS provides excellent service. Just my humble opinion!

Do not stay at this motel under any circumstances. There was a constant noise coming from a ventilation or something behind the wall, and when I complained, the manager told me to "turn the TV up." As soon as I turned on the shower, a fountain of water gushed out from under the toilet. It continued to flow until we turned off the water supply faset. The manager yelled at us, saying we'd destroyed the room and it would cost us $700 and she would bring a mop so we must clean the mess. She refused to give us another room. We left and went to another hotel. Upd: The reseptionist manager lies in her response. We reported the gushing water as soon as we managed to turn it off, literally five minutes after the "explosion." No one stepped on the hose; it's physically difficult, and why would anyone even think of doing that? Your completely inappropriate reaction, rudeness, yelling at confused people in front of a child, and refusing to give us another room (three people would have been left without water or access to a toilet) definitely ruined our experience. But that's just you and your hotel. Fortunately, you're not the whole of Morro Bay and not the only hotel in town.

I’m trying to talk to someone because there’s flooding and high wind warnings for the day we are coming in, Wednesday. The First Lady I spoke with was nice and said to call back if we decided it didn’t look safe to drive. We would be driving from US 1 and that entire area we pass through to get to morro bay, including morro bay, is under official warnings. The lady I just called to talk about it said “nope no warning or flooding here”. And when I said there were government alerts she said “we have government employees staying for 2,3,4,5 days no issue here and hung up” I called back two more times and was hung up on. I called back two more times and no one answered. I had to call corporate and put in a ticket about it. It’s whoever was answering the phone at 4:51 pm on 12/22. She was unbelievably rude and didn’t even let me get to my point about wanting to cancel my reservation due to unsafe conditions. Had the same issue with my Big Sur hotel for the next night, but they were phenomenal to talk to and work with. No reason to treat your customers badly. I had spoken to a girl earlier today at the best western and she was really nice, told us the potential for land slides but she thought it wouldn’t flood too bad in Morro Bay, and told us to call back if we decided to cancel our stay. Too bad I didn’t get the nice employee. We’re already devistated that we are missing the two best highlight days of the trip. Now we have to deal with this.
