During my stay from 11/23 to 11/28, I experienced multiple issues that made this visit extremely disappointing. On 11/23, the Netflix app on the TV worked, and I was able to log in and watch movies. However, on 11/24 and 11/25, I didn’t require housekeeping because I was working in the room—although working was difficult due to the poor internet connection. During this time, the Netflix app also stopped working, and I was no longer able to log in.
On the night of 11/25, I called the front desk to report the issue. I was told my room number would be passed along to maintenance the next day. On 11/26, I left the room around noon without placing the Do Not Disturb sign on my door, expecting the room to be cleaned while I was out. Unfortunately, when I returned after 9 PM, Netflix still wasn’t working, and my room had not been serviced at all. I had no clean towels, no body wash, full trash bins, and the room was still in the same condition as the previous day.
I went to the front desk that night, and the staff member said he would notify the manager, who would be in the following morning. I then had to gather my old towels to exchange them and pick up small bottles of body wash—again, with the room left dirty.
It’s also important to mention that my two young grandchildren stayed with me for three days. One is in diapers, so the room had an odor from used diapers in the trash. My granddaughter spilled chips earlier in the stay; while I cleaned up the main mess, there were crumbs on the floor that housekeeping should have addressed. Yet, the room was never cleaned at any point.
On 11/27 (Thanksgiving Day), I stopped by the front desk around 11:30 AM before leaving to visit family. I explained the ongoing issues to the two employees there, who apologized and assured me that housekeeping would take care of the room right away.
When I returned after 8 PM, nothing had been done. The room was still dirty, towels unchanged, trash full, and Netflix still unusable.
To make matters even worse, the microwave in the room did not work. I attempted to heat my leftovers for 5 minutes, and the food remained cold. I tried again for 10 minutes—still completely cold—and the turntable inside the microwave didn’t spin at all. Having basic amenities fail on top of everything else was extremely frustrating.
Overall, this has been the worst customer service experience I have ever had, and I will not be staying at a Best Western again. The lack of housekeeping, unresolved maintenance issues, poor internet, broken appliances, and extremely low-quality breakfast made this stay unacceptable. Best Western has officially lost my business.
