I really loved the way this hotel incorporated fresh flowers throughout the rooms and public spaces. It felt like a classic property that has been polished with care over many years. Service: Joseph, who helped us with check-in, was incredibly friendly and made our arrival smooth. He gave us plenty of helpful information about the hotel and the area. Room: Our room was more spacious than a standard hotel room. The bed was extremely comfortable. I liked small touches like the sand zen tray and the complimentary reusable water bottles. There was also a Vertuo coffee machine and a kettle. The minibar fridge was fully stocked, so it wasn’t really usable for personal items. The bathroom amenities were from Byredo, which made me want to wash my hands more often than usual. Location: Intercontinental Monterey is right on Cannery Row, making it easy to explore the neighborhood and walk to the aquarium. Since the hotel sits directly on the water, some rooms offer views that make you feel like you’re floating above the ocean. Don’t miss the hotel’s skybridge—it’s a great viewpoint overlooking Cannery Row. Parking: The hotel has its own parking, but there’s also a public street-parking area about two blocks away. You can park for up to four hours at $2 per hour, and it’s free from 8pm to 9am. It’s much cheaper than the hotel lot, though finding a spot on Saturdays can be tough. Pool & Amenities: The pool and jacuzzi were much smaller than I expected—very compact. The fitness center was also minimal but had the essentials. Overall, it was a charming stay with thoughtful details and an unbeatable location.

This place is amazing. Great location, amazing service! Gave us 2pm check out free. So many cool historical statues and we also found a karaoke place on sun night as well as a vegan mexican restaurant with delicious food. My friend forgot her bag of money in the room. We didn't notice until we had driven a long ways. She started freaking out because it was over 3k in cash. We got through to housekeeping and they had found it! My friend asked if they could fed ex it to her and they did, they also sent a check and kept the cash so cash wouldn't be in the mail. You do have to do valet parking for $50 a night unless you do what we did was paid parking meter every 2 hours until 8pm then again at 9 am. That was the only hassle probably would have been easier to valet park but we wanted to go to the car to smoke. I was sad to leave because it was so fun and a great vibe

Booked oceanfront room for 3 nights, website says pet fee $75.00. The manager (Phillip Olson) emailed me stating the room category I have the pet fee is $150 per night, plus if anyone complained about my dog I would be moved to building across the street. They already have very high costs to stay at this place ... 3 days for just room is over $2300 + pet fee, parking $45 a day + restaurant food etc, I expected by the time I left I would have paid out between $3k and $4k for entire stay. I'm in their Ambassador program ($250 per year) after adding this additional pet fee I said screw them. I canceled my reservation, will not renew my Ambassador program. Rebooked at the Portola Plaza Hotel, much more pet friendly and better area to walk dog plus pet fee $50 per night. I have short haired dog does not shed, manager IGH hotel said added fee is to clean premium room each day. BS!!! I have traveled several high class hotels with my dog, the maid service never changes how they clean wither you have a pet or not traveling with you. Boycott this price gouging hotel and stay at the Portola Plaza where you will treated much better, plus got a great deal on a suite at the Portola Plaza.

We had an amazing experience and memorable stay at this landmark and distinguished hotel in Monterey. The hotel is located on the ocean and we had a room with direct view to the ocean that we felt as we are aboard a ship. I would like to extend my thanks to Olewis at the front desk who was very generous and supportive and made us feel welcomed. Also, we had a nice experience at the breakfast restaurant in the hotel. If I will have a visit to Monterey on the future, definitely I will choose this hotel.

I booked this hotel through my chase travel points and it was worth it! The service was incredible- the front desk manager offered a complimentary upgrade without us even asking for it! And he also extended our checkout to be from 11 AM to 2 PM. The location is unbeatable - right by the ocean and all the sights of Cannery row. The room itself was gorgeous, with a fireplace, a big spacious bathroom with a shower and tub, plush bedding, and a view of the ocean. And I can't forget to mention the Nespresso machine which was much needed as we were on East Coast time. We would stay here again and are now IHG converts! Thank you to the amazing staff!
