I was pleasantly surprised. The front desk young man, Timothy, was super professional and welcoming. The room was extremely clean and roomy. The breakfast was outstanding. The breakfast attendant, Ma Xochit, was super attentive, pleasant, and was constantly making sure everything was in order and clean. On checkout, the young lady, Carina, was so bright eyed and professional. I highly recommend this hotel .

Update:
Thank you for the detailed response. I want to clarify a few points: the lukewarm water persisted even when I fully opened the faucet on hot—I know how to operate a faucet. If it is hotter at times, it may be only when other guests aren't using water, which isn’t ideal. The main room light was indeed flickering during my stay. Additionally, other guests have mentioned issues with the A/C screen, so this wasn’t unique to my experience. I appreciate that management checked the room and addressed my concerns, but my original review reflects my actual stay.
This is probably one of the worst best Western hotels I've stayed at, and close to the worst hotel in general. The interior is outdated with uncomfortable beds, light fixtures with twist switches, air conditioners with broken and delayed panels, flickering lights awkward motion sensors for some lights and Luke warm water for showers. The pool has cheesy led color lights that seemed to work similarly to the flickering bedroom light. The location seems good as it is close to Dennys and a gas station, but keep in mind it is the dessert. Front staff were friendly and check in was simple. I was on the second floor and at 6 foot I found myself close to hitting my head going up the stairs, so tall people be cautious. The pump for the hot tub is loud and can probably be heard from all the rooms. It is close to a busy road but luckily there wasn't much noise from that. This is probably one of the better hotels in the area, but my review reflects other Best Western hotels and budget hotels I have stayed at.

Mojave is a railroad town in the middle of the desert. That said, Best Western Desert Winds did a good job of attenuating the sound of the trains that roll by. We booked a room as we traveled south to San Diego and the again on our return home. The first room had low water pressure for showers but the second had adequate pressure. Both rooms were clean so we left a tip for room cleaning crew. Overall the rooms were fine for a stop on a road trip.
