  I had a very disappointing experience at the Holiday Inn Modesto on Bangs Avenue and would not recommend staying here. I booked a two-night stay with a king bed through a third-party service. When I checked in around 4:00 PM on 3/16, I was given the wrong room. After addressing this, I spoke with Ilse at the front desk and was told that the only available correct room was only available for the first night. Because of this, I was unable to stay the second night since the hotel could not provide the room type I originally booked. I was inconvenienced and still compromised based on the assurance that I would be refunded for the unused night. I contacted the third-party booking service at the earliest time their customer service was available as instructed by Ilse. They contacted the hotel as soon as they were able, but the refund was denied when they reached out on 3/19. I was never told that the refund required same-day contact when I spoke with Ilse. This condition is now being used to deny the refund, despite not being disclosed and the third-party only being able to contact the hotel based on their own processing timeline. Management has since provided conflicting explanations, including claims that I chose to shorten my stay, which is not accurate. I could not stay the second night because the hotel could not accommodate my reservation. I have escalated this issue to the third-party booking provider and have attempted to resolve this directly with Ilse, but have not received a response. Overall, this situation feels misleading and dishonest. I followed the instructions given and still ended up paying for a night I could not use. I would strongly caution others when booking here, especially through a third party.

  Nice surprise that we were upgraded to suite because we were members. And everything is wonderful except coffee and that the room we had was on the side of the highway and window area did not do any good at keeping highway traffic noise blocked. It was super loud all night. Luckily for us we use earplugs to sleep with when at a hotel, so that did help, but WOW there is a lot of traffic on the highway all night.

  My stay was exemplary! From my check-in, to my checkout ran smooth as silk. The front desk host Melissa was super inviting and hospitable. The room was clean, cozy and relaxing. My shower was hot and fantastic. The breakfast was fresh and delicious; especially the bacon! I highly recommend this location. The price was very fair as well.

  Comfortable room. In need of updating, but renovations are in progress. Staff was friendly and helpful.
