- LSLisa SNov 17, 20251.0Had a very disappointing stay here prior to a flight out of SFO. This was surprising considering the good reviews online. Our room was dated and the bed was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept in at a hotel. It was sagging and squeaked/shook with every little movement. The noise from outside and above was impossible to sleep through and kept on until early in the morning. Because of the age of the room nothing felt clean with dirt accumulated in the nooks. Staff was friendly, which was the only positive. I assume some rooms here are nicer, hence the good reviews, however, I would never stay here again. Room 220 beware!

There are no USB plugs in the rooms, so you need a charging block. Parts of the room clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time - basic things like the bathroom door. Complementary breakfast is decent, plenty of options available.

After booking a room eight (8) months in advance utilizing Expedia that advertised at $389 and showed that "you will not be charged yet", I was charged immediately and it was for $521???? I tried to cancel the reservation but was told the SFO El Rancho refused. The res. was canceled and SFO El Rancho is keeping the money ??????
