This place was a complete DUMP. That being said, the people were very nice and breakfast was nice.
HOWEVER, there were ants in my room. The drainage system in the parking lot had it partially flooded and my hot water did not work. They were going to have to shut the water down to replace the valve or something in my room. They did let me shower in the empty room next door. This also seemed to be a place where people "lived". I know for sure there was one woman on a voucher program (which I am grateful she had 14 days to stay there), but the clientele seemed shady - doors were open at one in the morning. My ottoman was dirty.
No carts available for luggage and an expensive Lyft ride to the airport. Not worth the savings

SFO El Rancho Inn Review
The front desk staff are very nice and helpful. The area is pleasant, with fast-food places and restaurants nearby. You can easily walk around the neighborhood.
One of the best perks is that it’s very close to the airport, making it a great option if you’re traveling and need a convenient place to stay. They offer free breakfast, and I can say it’s very good.
The price per night is reasonable considering the location.

I stayed at the hotel for one night, and when I checked out in the morning, they charged me $15 for parking on my credit card. The hotel had plenty of parking spaces for its guests, and they were within the hotel grounds, so why would they charge for parking? They should have also informed me that parking was not free during the reservation process. Furthermore, $15 for one night of parking was excessive.

Worst hotel experience in a while. Forget about convenience to SFO, they have no shuttle and Uber wanted 36 dollars for the 1 mile ride. The room was disgusting, dirty furniture, antique TV, no elevators. This place is a total dump! Maybe back in the day... I had a very very long walk with luggage in the night to get to my room, had to cross three large parking areas. This place is bad. Very bad. Book the regular Best Western that has a shuttle. Otherwise, you'll for sure spend more on taxi or Uber than any possible savings. Avoid!!!

We have stayed here on and off for many years and had a generally positive experience, but this time we are left to assume that the owners have decided against spending on upkeep because they want to sell. We had to change rooms twice during a five night stay (so far), first because the wifi wasn't working in a whole section of the hotel, and then because our door lock quit working and they were unable to repair it. There was no expression of regret for our inconvenience. The maintenance person was superb, though -- kudos for that.
