An excellent hotel for a 3-star hotel. Worth the money. Only book the new rooms—they're comfortable and clean. Cons: 1. The bathroom and toilet doors don't close, which is especially uncomfortable with children. 2. The shower has poor water pressure and there's no bathtub. 3. I asked for cleaning services upon check-in and they promised it, but in the end, no one cleaned our room for two days. The hotel restaurant is good and there's a wonderful coffee van every

Outbound was the perfect spot for our family and friends. Had a great stay. Easy walk to the shuttle and to great breakfast spots and a short drive to Shady Rest for sledding. We loved the dog friendly atmosphere and the photo board of all the dog guests. Staff was beyond friendly and our kids loved the free arcade. Comfy rooms had everything we needed & we also made smores at the fire pit. Kids could play in the snow outside and the heated pool and spa was great after a day of snow play. The perfect Mammoth home base! We will be back.
Resort fees?!
Surprise resort fees are never nice. Especially when it is not clearly stated at the time of bookings .
Also, for being a hotel frequented by skiers and snowboarders, have NO HANGERS or anything to hang clothing is a major oversight. No hooks, no racks… nothing. Had to ask room service to bring hangers as the room had zero.
Had to hang our jackets off a door frame…
Rooms also only have 1 small waste basket between the entire room and the bathroom.
On the outside, hotel looks somewhat modernized. But the details are lacking.

Looks great (nice lobby, good amenities - pool / sauna / gym / hot tub, great location, nice restaurant, available parking) but struggles with maintenance / operations:
- We stayed two nights and did not receive clean towels, have the beds made, or the trash cleaned;
- The in-room phone had no connecting phone line or power cord so was unusable;
- The WIFI was spotty;
- There were large paint bubbles that formed in our room on the second floor as water was getting between the paint and the wall and creating these water-filled bubbles that streaked down the wall;
- There was a leak in the window frame which resulted in water dripping on to the sill and then the floor; and
- The dry sauna did not work.
Also, this hotel is functionally a dog park. I didn't read reviews so that's on me, but it is a very pet friendly hotel so there are dogs everywhere. Great if you're a dog owner and are used to living with that, less so if, like us, you have family with an allergy to dog dander and don't enjoy dog piss throughout the grounds.

Do not listen to the bad reviews, this place is a gem! We stayed in the main part of the hotel, room 208. The rooms are clean newly remodeled, hotel has great service, heated pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, a really cool lobby with a beautiful fireplace area to relax with free coffe and hot chocolate, nice busy restaurant in a separate building with a free arcade room. What else do you want? Considering the cost of hotels in Mammoth Mountain i think it is fairly priced, I mean we stayed at the Motel 6 before spent the same amount, for a way lower quality experience. Outbound Mammoth is also in a great location, many of the great famous restaurants are just walking distance. Eagle lodge is 5 minutes drive and Canyon Lodge maybe 7 minutes away. Good job Outbound Mammoth!!!
