The class of hotel, I would give 4.5 stars, it is pretty amazing especially the top levels of this hotel, the check-in on level 70 was pretty cool and impressed my family. Valet was ok, though they damaged some of our luggage. I am Diamond Elite and booked a Club Level room - I was a little disappointed they did not direct me to the separate check-in in the Club and barely recognized my status. Pro-tip: if you do book Club Level - skip the general check-in line and go straight to the Club for check-in. Amenities, I would give 3 stars. They gave me 2 food and beverage vouchers but did not specify you cannot use them on their signature Spire (rooftop) restaurant / bar. That is unacceptable IMHO. Food is prohibitively expensive for a family. Even though the vouchers aren't accepted at the Spire, it is a must to go up there and get a drink. Expect to pay ~$30 a drink after all their taxes and gratuity, but it is probably worth a single drink. Pool is ok, we wished there was some kind of beverage / food service down there even in the off-season. The steam room and sauna are really nice. Regarding the Club Level, definitely worth it for the breakfast and the happy-hour. The breakfast in the Club was really the highlight of our stay - excellent. We missed the happy hour by minutes but it looked really good. Here is some feedback for IHG if they are listening - there should be a better offering outside of breakfast and happy-hour. If you miss those times they literally only have nuts, M&Ms, and some fruit. Surely for the amount the club level costs, they could put some pastries - even just warm up frozen appetizers from Costco and put them out there at intervals during the day - I expected there to at least be a can of beer or something... if you miss breakfast / happy-hour don't expect anything. View is great though. Finally, rooms, I've got to give them 2 stars for the simple fact of there being a giant window (frosted) in the bathroom overlooking the rest of the room. I'd like the designer of the room to try sleeping in there with a family of 5 - every time someone uses the bathroom during the night the whole room lights up... along with the oddity of you can't really see what's going on in the bathroom but you can kind of because the window is frosted. Weird and illogical room setup - but if you're by yourself, I guess its not a big deal...

We had a wonderful stay at the Intercontinental. Seriously can it get any better? The room with the stunning view, the location, the cocktails but above all the service and a special shout out to Manny Ayala, the concierge, who was at our back and call and seem to have been for everybody. We brought some special food that we wanted to store in the fridge but that was filled with alcohol for purchase. No problem said Manny I'll bring you a fridge and within 10 minutes we had another mini fridge in the room. Outstanding service.

This was our first time staying at this hotel. Brianda made our check-in super seamless and went over every amenity with us with great detail. I thought it was extremely kind when I would see Brianda throughout our stay, we would smile and wave to each other. She really takes care of her guests! We got to enjoy some perks, since my friend booked through Chase. We made sure to enjoy a few drinks at the Lobby Bar and up at Spire73. It was quick and easy to change our reservation time when we needed to. The view up there is incredible and just throughout the hotel itself. We stayed on the 51st floor, which I experienced no issues with during our stay. The hotel is located in a great spot downtown, where it's easy to walk to the convention center or if you need to find any restaurant outside of the hotel, there's plenty of options around. It's worth it to grab breakfast at the hotel though, especially if you sit by the windows for a view of the city. Thank you again Brianda!

The hard product is great - the gym/pool & facilities, the building itself and the rooms are great but on 2/2 occasions the service/staff are very inconsistent to your detriment and then the bill at the end may leave a bad taste too. This hotel behaves so badly when it comes to gouging customers; it trie its hardest to maximise how much money can be extracted from your card during every night of your stay. The staff seem to be trained to explain as little as possible so that you can end up falling into multiple traps of ‘additional fees’. The daily amenity fee is a perfect example of this; on 2/2 stays it was never mentioned or explained, in 2026 vs 2024 it offers even more obscure benefits (i.e. things you probably didn’t want) and if you were staying 5 nights, each night’s stay has the same fee with diminishing benefits. Examples - spend $39+ tax to save $25 on dinner and $25 to spend on laundry just ONCE (regardless of nights stayed). Essentially, you need to spend money to access these services or accept that your $39+ tax is just as donation to the hotel’s owners. I am glad that this sort of behaviour is illegal in Europe, because it is definitely wrong on so many levels. Another example of guest exploitation: I had great welcome, told me breakfast was included as a Diamond Ambassador benefit (no further conditions were shared) and then leaves me with a bill for breakfast at the end. Apparently i should have been told that this is only $40 per person/per day (which would leave you very hungry considering that they auto-apply 18% gratuity aswell). What this allowance would give you is a bottle of juice + gratuity, again forcing you to spend more. Since I argued that this was never explained, i did eventually get refunded after 10mins of holding my ground when checking out. This is the worst IHG hotel i have ever stayed in for customer gouging and so i don’t think that i would stay here a third time.

This was our first time staying at the InterContinental Downtown LA, and while we have stayed at many nice properties, I have never been more impressed than I was by the customer service from Angel at the front desk. She immediately recognized and thanked me for my Platinum Elite loyalty, making us feel incredibly valued and appreciated. She truly went above and beyond to ensure our stay started with a five-star experience. Angel is an absolute gem, and her warm, generous welcome set a fantastic tone for our entire trip. Unfortunately, the restaurant service at La Boucherie needs significant improvement. During both dinner and breakfast, the servers lacked energy, warmth, and basic menu knowledge. At dinner, our server brought the wrong glass of wine—which happened to be $18 more expensive—and we only caught the error on the final bill. Fortunately, the manager corrected it once we explained the situation. It is also important for future guests to know that an 18% gratuity is automatically added to all checks. Additionally, the staff struggled to offer helpful recommendations. When I asked for advice on the menu at dinner, the server essentially just read the descriptions back to me. The same thing happened at breakfast; when I was debating between two dishes, the server nonchalantly replied, “Well, one is a sandwich and the other is eggs Benedict,” without asking what I was in the mood for. A little extra engagement or guidance would add a lot of value to the dining experience. Finally, I highly recommend implementing a digital waitlist or WhatsApp notification system for tables. Having to stand right next to the hostess for 20 minutes waiting for a breakfast table feels outdated. For a high-end hotel that already utilizes WhatsApp for other guest services, I don’t understand why this feature isn’t offered for dining. Despite the dining hiccups, we truly had a wonderful stay overall. Being taken care of by Angel was a massive highlight of our visit, and we would return just to experience her outstanding hospitality again!
